@jackunheard Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits covered employers — including pro sports teams — from discriminating against individuals based on religion in all aspects of employment. (Including firing, pay, religion-based harassment, other adverse treatment).
@CHIMPUSX She’s 17 years older than the Norma Desmond character in Sunset Boulevard. (And it does seem like she has become some weird modern variant of that story.)
@mtomasky LIFE Magazine was once one of the most influential and successful magazines in the nation and I’m guessing I’m the only person on the planet to mention it maybe all year.
@musepwt This is soft bigotry of low expectations — it’s profoundly classist/elitist and offensive. You assume working class men are ignorant woman-beating racists and that this freak is representative of them.
@Ron4California Oh he’s genuinely upset at how they handled/didnt handle the fire and the corruption. But speaking of corruption — there is absolutely the possibility of overlap regarding his and the federal government’s interests in election integrity.
@ThrillaRilla369 We had tomboys but they tended to like themselves and be confident and popular. And androgyny was huge, massive in the late 1980s-mid 1990s — and SO DIFFERENT from today (top model stuff, guys with long hair and skirts, and pronouns were OUT, a signal of a backward ignorant boob)
@Jhon42964332 What exactly is the person’s motivation for doing this? Competition? Possessiveness? Indignation? Seriously, what weird override is triggered in people that they suddenly forget everyone involved is driving a 2-ton killing machine?
@ClownWorld I worked at a diner where a new waitress kept putting in orders for bagels with American cheese. And worse, the kitchen kept sending them out, too (I finally introduced her to cream cheese).
@MericaCulture Boston is at basically the same latitude as Barcelona and Rome.
Washington, DC —> Athens and Lisbon
Atlanta —> Marrakech (Morocco, North Africa) and Baghdad
Miami —> Dubai UAE
@20committee So, you’re saying they’re threatening sell secrets to enemy nations? Sabotage the sitting president? These are supposed to be arguments for NOT firing them?
@natehowe It’s also weird how the more expensive the hotel, the less likely it is to have a mini-fridge or microwave. But you can order room service for $25 eggs and bacon with a $5 service fee and $5 delivery fee, tips appreciated.
@BasedMikeLee I don’t even know what this means but it sounds like a phrase they’ve created and given a definite meaning, and will act like it’s always been a thing.
@TomFitton Do voters not have a legal or constitutional case that this is government-facilitated disenfranchisement? Every illegal vote accepted cancels out a legitimate vote.
