@Tamasyn29 In my village parents helped each other out. There was so much ‘feedback’ about this that after my kids had gone through the school changed the structure of the first half term.
How the words students hear changes significantly at the transition to secondary school.
Really interesting research with specific examples via Prof Alice Deignan & Marcus Jones.

@Sam647803328582@Emma_Turner75 This ends with FE students staying behind to explain to their teacher why their teaching was awful. Do we really have to justify every teaching decision to these students, defend our expertise, listen to them as peers? Really?

@thosethatcan Sixteen years old. Little Chef. Packed. I forgot a man’s toast to go with his Olympic Breakfast. He dressed me down in front of the whole restaurant. Everyone else went silent. My boss made me stay on the floor taking everyone’s orders as we were understaffed. Humiliating 😔
Applications are now open for our 2025/26 primary and secondary courses, we can't wait to read them!

We were delighted to contribute to this call for evidence, and we welcome this report that highlights the importance of learning to talk, about talk, and through talk. We'll hand the virtual mic to @Tom_F_Wright, our lead for Oracy, to add his thoughts...
