LPD Makes Multiple Proactive Felony Arrests
Yesterday, an LPD Sergeant contacted three individuals in a vehicle; Mychale Lee, Stephanie Casillas, and Pamela Aragon. Lee was found to have two felony warrants. During a search of the vehicle, Lee was in possession of other individuals credit cards. Casillas was in possession of fentanyl and other individuals California ID cards altered with her face inserted on the ID. Casillas and Lee were arrested
Later in the day, an LPD officer contacted Erik Johnson at Target on Groveland Lane. Johnson was found to have a felony warrant and arrested.
During the evening, LPD officers contacted Jose Perez during a foot patrol. Perez was found to have a felony warrant and arrested.
Proactive policing remains a core principle of LPD and keeping our community safe.
The 4th of July and America’s 250th approach us quickly. We remind our residents that safe and sane fireworks that carry the California State Fire Marshal seal are the only fireworks approved for use in the city limits.
In addition to normal patrol staffing, LPD will have an entire patrol team dedicated to illegal firework enforcement throughout the city. If you are discovered to have used illegal fireworks, you will be cited.

Captain Eaton and SRO Moreno attended the annual Rods and Relics event today at McBean Park. Chief Alves made an appearance earlier in the day where he selected a vehicle for the Chief’s Trophy. We really enjoyed the location switch to McBean Park—over 400 cars in attendance!
Proactive Shoplifting Arrest
Last night, LPD officers observed a suspicious vehicle possibly casing to shoplift near Ulta and Ross on Ferrari Ranch Road. Officers conducted an enforcement stop on the vehicle and contacted 37-year-old Richard Ybarra and 35-year-old Melissa Curiel, both of Sacramento.
Ybarra was found to have a felony warrant out of Sacramento, in possession of drug paraphernalia, possessed credit cards belonging to other individuals, and stolen items from Ross. Curiel was cited and released from the scene while Ybarra was booked into the South Placer Jail on multiple charges.
We will continue to do everything we can to protect our businesses from theft.
LPD Conducts Active Shooter Training
This morning and Thursday (6/11), LPD personnel and other first responders will be conducting active shooter training at Phoenix High School. There will be numerous emergency vehicles and first responders in the area—please do not be alarmed by their presence.
LPD Sergeant Makes Narcotics Sales Arrest
Earlier today, an LPD sergeant observed a suspicious vehicle in the Target parking lot in the 900 block of Groveland Lane possibly involved in shoplifting.
Officers ultimately detained three individuals, 44-year-old Mario Acosta, 43-year-old Jonathan Damiano, and 30-year-old Joshua Martinez (all from Sacramento) after locating suspected methamphetamine in Acosta’s possession.
A subsequent search of Martinez revealed Target merchandise concealed in his pants, along with an ounce and a half of suspected fentanyl, 21 grams of methamphetamine, and a concealed dagger.
Acosta was cited for the methamphetamine possession and Martinez was arrested on various charges including possession of narcotics for sale and booked into the South Placer Jail.

🚨 New Officer Alert
Please join us in welcoming new LPD Officer Alec Beall after Captain Eaton swore him in this morning. He comes to us after working his first few years with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the South Placer Jail. He hits the streets next Wednesday. Please welcome him as you see him around the city.
LPD Sergeant Saves Choking Woman at Local Restaurant
Last week, LPD received a call of a woman in her nineties who was choking and unresponsive at a local restaurant. Sergeant Jordan Morris was in the area of the call and immediately responded. Once on scene, Sergeant Morris did what all first responders sign up to do—help people in crisis. Sergeant Morris performed the Heimlich maneuver several times, ultimately causing the female’s airway to become unobstructed, allowing her to breathe again.

LPD Collects 402 Pounds of Unwanted Prescription Drugs During Take-back Event
Yesterday, Sergeant McCauley, Property/Evidence Expert Gurnee, and LPD VIPS led our prescription drug take-back event. We saw 142 cars come through, up from 127 last year. In total, 402 pounds of prescription drugs were turned in, compared to 377 pounds last year.
The items will be destroyed by our Property and Evidence Division. Thank you to everyone who utilized this event to safely discard unwanted prescriptions.
Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day from 10am to 2pm at LPD. Don’t miss this great to get rid of any unwanted items so we can dispose of them properly. The flyer has further details. See you there.
LPD Conducts Tobacco Retailer Compliance Inspections
On April 9, 2026, the Lincoln Police Department, in partnership with the California Department of Public Health and the Rocklin Police Department conducted tobacco retailer inspections at three local businesses under the authority of California Business and Professions Code.
As a result of the operation, officers and partner agencies seized more than 130 flavored vape products believed to be in violation of the Business and Professions Code. Investigators also seized numerous cannabis products, suspected psilocybin-infused candy, and additional flavored tobacco products believed to be in violation of California law. In addition, kratom-derived or synthetic adulterated food and beverage products were destroyed on site by a business representative.
These inspections are part of our ongoing commitment to protecting the health and safety of our community, especially our youth. The Lincoln Police Department has received concerns from parents regarding underage access to prohibited products, and we take those concerns seriously.
We will continue working with our public health and law enforcement partners to ensure businesses comply with state law and to help keep these products out of the hands of minors.

🚨 Felon Arrested for Possession of Firearm and Methamphetamine For Sale
Last night, graveyard officers received information that Brian Medinger was in possession of a firearm and had a prior felony conviction. LPD located the firearm in the 300 block of E. 9th Street and arrested Medinger. Medinger was found to have concealed approximately two ounces of crystal methamphetamine on his person during his arrest and transportation to the South Placer Main Jail.
LPD will continue to hold those accountable who are intent on selling dangerous drugs and possessing illegal weapons in our community.

LPD Officers turned suspicious activity in the Target parking lot into multiple arrests.
After surveillance in the Lowe’s/Dollar Tree area, officers stopped a stolen motorcycle ridden by 38-year-old Brian Smith of Sacramento and recovered counterfeit USPS Arrow Keys and another person’s credit card.
Officers then stopped an associated truck occupied by 58-year-old Valerie Murphy and 27-year-old Xavier Estrada, both of Sacramento. The investigation led to the recovery of stolen property from Home Depot, Target, Lowe’s, and Dollar Tree, approximately a half ounce of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
All three were arrested on various charges, and Murphy was additionally found to have a Placer County warrant.
🚨Flock Safety Cameras Assists LPD in Felony Retail Theft Arrest
On March 19, LPD officers responded swiftly to a reported theft at The Home Depot, where a suspect fled with approximately $1,000 in merchandise. Thanks to Flock Safety cameras, officers were able to quickly identify the suspect vehicle's license plate—critical information that was otherwise not available. This led to Roseville PD locating the vehicle in their jurisdiction and detaining three individuals.
LPD took lead on the investigation, resulting in the arrest of two suspects, James Fischer and Michael Juvenal.
Both were charged with Organized Retail Theft, Petty Theft with Priors, and Conspiracy. Fischer was also on parole and had an active felony warrant for Petty Theft with Priors out of Sacramento County. Both arrested parties were booked into the South Placer Main Jail.
Incidents like this demonstrate the real-world value of advanced technology and seamless collaboration between neighboring agencies in protecting our neighborhoods from retail crime.
🚨 LPD Makes Felony Arrest of Nanny for Child Abuse
On March 16, 2026, Lincoln Police Department officers responded to Markham Ravine Park for a welfare check after a reporting party expressed concern that a young child was being abused by an adult female. The reporting party stated they witnessed the child being abused multiple times, and provided information (including video) that assisted officers in the investigation.
Officers continued the investigation after two witnesses followed the suspect, Suzanne Buhler, 41, of Lincoln, to a residence in Lincoln. Based on the information obtained during the investigation, Buhler was arrested and booked on felony child abuse charges. The child had visible injuries consistent with the reported assault and was provided appropriate assistance. The child is safe and with their family.
LPD takes allegations of child abuse extremely seriously. Protecting children is a top priority, and we will pursue a thorough investigation and hold offenders accountable.
Investigators have also learned that, prior to this incident, Buhler advertised nanny services on multiple internet sites/apps and may have provided childcare services to other families. Last night, LPD contacted an individual at the AM/PM on Twelve Bridges. Narcotics paraphernalia was observed in plain view in a vehicle and a search was conducted. Officers located methamphetamine for sale and 56-year-old Robert Crane was arrested and booked into the South Placer Main Jail.
So far in 2026, 86% of all narcotics arrests in Lincoln center around methamphetamine.
