@CarolJago I have been preaching that within our department for a decade or more. Everyone nods and then goes right back to teaching content with worksheets & trying to work grammar exercises back into place.
#KCSELA Ms. Blair at Northwest MS is teaching the 8B Amplify unit Liberty and Equality. Students are creating a literacy advertisement using a quote from Frederick Douglass that validated the importance of literacy. Great lesson for reflecting on new learning!
