Last night I attended Charles Gordon SPS’s first community iftaar. I was moved by the care that was put into planning this event by VP Gupta and her outstanding staff. It was an honour to break my fast with this wonderful community. @LindsayButson@tdsb_ihm@NeethanShan
If @fordnation gets his way, a new 4-6 lane highway will be paved through the world's largest protected Greenbelt. But @s_guilbeault has the power to stop it.

It makes no sense to say education workers are too important to allow them to strike, but not valuable enough to pay a living wage. The hypocrisy is a policy choice.
If you think the cost of paying education workers a decent wage is too high, wait until you see the bill for allowing the quality of our education system to crumble. A nation's future is inextricably linked to the quality of the education system.
Conservatives just voted down the @OntarioNDP motion to double ODSP & OW rates. Result 74-35.
In June, the Premier gave 88% of his caucus a raise of over $16,600 per year.

It's chilling to see the PC caucus be so cold-hearted as they applaud unconstitutional legislation to strip education workers their right to collective bargaining. They sneer education workers that work two jobs & feed their families from the food bank. Just heartless. #onpoli
BREAKING: Ford is going to fine CUPE for exercising their legal right to strike by charging those who make #39kIsNotEnough 10% of their yearly salary per day if they walk! @sflecce made $165,851.04 back in 2020. SHAME
The Ontario government recently gave 43 of their MPPs a $16,000 raise, bringing their salary to $132,500/year.
So why are they refusing to provide a decent wage to Ontario’s lowest paid education workers, who make $39,000/year & are just asking for a $3.25/hour raise to survive?

This weekend, we have witnessed symbols of hate across Canada.
We cannot be silent about it.
These events remind us of the importance of educating about human rights and equity in our schools.
Today, January 14, marks the celebration of Thai Pongal, a Tamil harvest festival. Overflowing rice, or pongal, symbolizes abundance and prosperity. This harvest festival, akin to Canadian Thanksgiving, gives thanks to the sun and other natural elements for a good harvest. @tdsb
