Aggregates must be properly sized, cleaned and free from other matter. This is essential so the byproduct is the desired strength and efficiency. We process a variety of different aggregates for different uses so we have several processing systems and stockpile in separate areas.

Scallops precipitate calcium carbonate from seawater to serve as a protective shell. Their two-piece outer shell can be opened to allow the scallop to feed and closed to give protection. Later, this shell debris is destined to become limestone.

Magnesium Oxide is produced from dolomitic limestone that is calcinated in a rotary kiln. It can be found in blushes, eye shadows and facial powder as both an active ingredient, that enhances the look and feel of the skin, and an additive, that improves the quality of a formula.

According to @RiverAction, the rocks exposed in the Davenport area are part of the Pinicon Ridge Formation, a layer of limestone that is extensive in Eastern IA. This layer was deposited during the Devonian Period of geologic time, between ~380 and 370 million years ago.

In the winter, our sister company, @LinwoodMining, experiences product freezing & compacting into small builders. To break it up, they use skid loads to drop the boulders onto large grates (pictured) which breaks them up & lets smaller pieces fall through. #CustomFabrication

Antacids neutralize (reduce) excess stomach acid to relieve heartburn, sour stomach, acid indigestion, and upset stomachs. Calcium Carbonate is an active ingredient in heartburn medication and it is essentially an ingredient mined from Limestone.

Livestock can increase their performance when they ingest limestone. @LinwoodMining's Hi-Calcium limestone, used as feed granules for pet food companies, is 90% + calcium carbonate. Chickens get limestone in their feed to enrich their diet & cows so they produce more milk.

We had the opportunity to combine our knowledge and skills with our sister company, @OertelMetal. Oertel delivers a variety of common and out-of-the-ordinary projects made of metal and for @LinwoodMining, they fabricated our replacement kiln exhaust duct section.

We had the pleasure of fabricating our sister company, @LinwoodMining's replacement kiln exhaust duct section. Measuring 4 ft. in diameter and 35 ft. long, our team spent about a week and a half rolling and welding the A36 steel.
