.@NAWIC founded #womeninconstruction week to celebrate the ways women are paving new roads in the industry. Our family of companies is represented by talented, motivated women that are pivotal to our collective success. Tune in to see how we're honoring #WICWeek2020
Our 4 kW Fiber Optic CNC laser cutter is extremely efficient at cutting sheet and smaller thickness metal plates. It provides increased accuracy and detail, allowing us to create flat layout pieces that are extremely precise.
“I never really thought about doing anything welding or shop-related until I started to take Duncan’s class. Within the first few days, I realized that this was something I wanted to pursue,” Gould said.https://t.co/WPbxkUqQz1
In 2010, women made up just 4% of the welding workforce. Eight years later, that number had only increased by 1%, according to @BLS_gov. But a new generation of women welders is looking to change that statistic and the face of the industry. https://t.co/1RhrESyXMs @Forbes
Oertel Metal Works’ turn-key railcar fabrication services provide the full manufacturing capabilities necessary to build the unique configurations specified for railcar or freight car application.
Robotics manufacturers make design changes to create new opportunities in fabrication, metal forming, welding, and finishing space. https://t.co/fiPcZv2wSZ
Our responsibility at Oertel Metal Works is to convert your ideas into real steel pieces with precise measurements. Using the latest software applications, our team details blueprints into shop drawings.
There are three major categories of metal, denoted by thickness. 1. Foil or leaf metals are the thinnest, typically 0.20 mm and under. 2. Sheet metals range from 0.20 mm to 6 mm. 3. Plate metals are the thickest, typically larger than 6 mm.
A special thank you to the @OertelMetal employees who have served in the military. We are proud to know you and to work alongside you. With respect and honor, thank you to all veterans. We are grateful for your service. #VeteransDay2019
In the winter, our sister company, @LinwoodMining, experiences product freezing & compacting into small builders. To break it up, they use skid loads to drop the boulders onto large grates (pictured) which breaks them up & lets smaller pieces fall through. #CustomFabrication
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of sheet metal workers is projected to grow 8% from 2018 to 2028, faster than the average for all occupations.
In the United States, we commonly specify industrial sheet metal thickness by a traditional, non-linear measure known as gauge. A bigger gauge number equals a thinner metal. For example, the most popular sheet metal sizes range from 30 gauge to about 7 gauge.
Not only is there a dire need for the next-generation workforce in the construction trades, but jobs are also widely available and often high-paying. What’s more, training usually comes with no student debt. @forbes
In 1485 Leonardo da Vinci drew a sketch of a rolling mill, which was very advanced for the time. In 1590 da Vinci’s rolling mill was brought to life utilizing two heavy cylinders to press different types of metal altering their thickness.
We make these parts for a customer that uses them in the manufacturing of their industrial ice-cream machines. They are laser cut, embossed with a die, then the 4-sides are formed.
Two years ago, a Dickinson High School student welded horseshoes together & fabricated them to look like a pumpkin. From there a pumpkin horseshoe fundraiser was born, with a purpose to assist disadvantaged students in the American Welding Society certification program.
