University student studying maths and psychology. Being a pro footballer might be off the table now, so I'm trying to contribute to the game using stats instead
Grant Wahl, one of the most well-known soccer writers in the United States, died early Saturday while covering the World Cup match between Argentina and the Netherlands in Lusail, Qatar.

@LFCData@CouchNish I'm pretty sure for at least 2 of them he was trying to foul to break up the counter-attack. He was unsuccessful, but fouling was the right play.
@lfc_tactics@SportsEnthusi17 With all this in mind, I am not trying to overly criticize Trent. I'm just noting that if Elliott is going to play so aggressively, it will put more responsibility on Trent and others to cover the central areas defensively.
@lfc_tactics@SportsEnthusi17 If he had sprinted back staying central (blue) he would have covered those players. Plus, it's likely he would've dissuaded Eze from coming inside. As it happened (red), he was completely taken out of the play after Fab missed the tackle.
My Champions League Final Experience
Liverpool v Real Madrid
28th May 2022
I am a 43 year old Liverpool Supporter and have been a Season Ticket holder since 1992. I would class myself as an experienced match goer. I attend most away games, plus the odd European game. Saturday
Simone Inzaghi has maintained Antonio Conte's style of play at Inter Milan in a virtually identical manner. They are a very well-drilled team, but it's nothing Liverpool aren't used to. In fact, I'd argue that Liverpool are heavy favourites over the 180 minute tie.
MEGA-THREAD!
Excited to announce I've joined @TheAthleticUK.
For my first piece I unpick the reasons why Harry Maguire is more than a defender for #MUFC, despite his recent form.

I find it very amusing how almost every big name journalist who most probably wasn't even aware of Women's Asian Cup happening makes a sly remark looking at the scoreline with literally no context on the disparity of investment between two sides.
I guess it's easy likes.
@MC_of_A Do you think expected goal difference or expected goal ratio is a better indicator of team performance? Intuitively, I'd think it's xGD, but I've heard some smart people siding with xG ratio
