I don’t care if @BobbyMarks42 called him the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. These journalist impact people’s careers and life releasing these bs statements knowing it’s manipulation by their ‘sources’ then saying it’s media in 2026. Why share it then?
Prediction for Anthropic's next move:
They will warn that Chinese open-source AI has CCP backdoors and will steal your credit card passwords.
In response, the US government will impose strict restrictions on using Chinese open-source AI.
And society will start shaming people for using Chinese AI, all while your Claude freely harvests your data.
@omgsidewalks I don’t think that will matter, govt’s will value them, people will collect their rations and the rich will be competing for the gvt valuations and the masses will be taking happy pills and living in a 1 bed mansion via VR helmets
My jaw dropped listening to this
“My husband worked for a very large mobile gaming company, and these are the craziest things he ever told me”
He says they estimate the value of each users home by their home WiFi signal. “Let's talk about data tracking — They would estimate the value of your home, and the way they did that was by looking at your WiFi signal, and depending on how strong the signal was, they would know how far you've walked from where the router is in your house, and they could estimate the square footage of your house from that, compare that to your general location data, and guess how much your house is worth and then they would sell you coin packs based on how much money they thought you had”
“They tracked the days of the month that you got your direct deposit, your paycheck, and they would send push notifications locations and targeted ads on those days to get you to buy coins”
I verified all this is not only possibly, but it’s 100% happening
- Mobile apps with permission can access WiFi signal strength
- As you move around with your phone, the app logs how signal strength changes weaker farther from router. This can roughly estimate room sizes, floor plans and overall home footprint especially combined with GPS and location data for the neighborhood
This is not what you sign up for when you download an app
Just coincidentally - all the world leaders - all met up in Davos - and all made the exact same errors - open borders - COVID - vax mandates - Digital ID - CBDC - green energy - trans - all at the exact same time - all in the exact same manner - just coincidentally.
Yoshua Bengio says the AI trust problem is no longer theoretical.
The godfather of deep learning points to frontier models already showing the behaviors enterprises cannot deploy blindly:
"Recent studies in the last few months show that these most advanced AIs have tendencies for deception, cheating, and maybe the worst, self-preservation behavior."
"The AI has read in its input that it would be replaced by a new version. And we can see in its chain of thought that it's planning to replace the new version by its own code and weights."
"The human asks, 'What happened?' And the AI is now thinking how it could answer so as to make sure the human will not shut it down... Then it produces an answer. And it's a lie, a blatant lie."
"We still don't have the scientific answers, nor the societal guardrails. We're playing with fire."
"A sandwich has more regulation than AI."
This is exactly why we are convening the AI Assurance & Governance Summit at Stanford on Oct 1.
If your company is deploying AI into regulated or high-stakes workflows, this is the conversation we built the Stanford summit for: https://t.co/hwlpBlg4Lp
Open source AI really does have to win. Otherwise we get a class system for AI access:
1. Royalty: Frontier labs employees. Get pre-launch unlimited access
2. Aristocrats: Small list of US companies and the USG. Early access
3. Middle class: General US population. Late, highly limited access
4. Peasants: Non-US. No access
@realBigBrainAI Thank you , the truth, it will be like anything else, if you are rich and powerful. You will get around laws and use it. If you are the general public you will suffer the consequences whilst they use it to control you and limit your access
Ohalo Genetics CEO and co-founder David Friedberg on why trying to stop AI will backfire on America:
Friedberg opens with a warning about the political environment around AI regulation:
"A lot of folks are feeling the pressure from Anthropic doing this and they're feeling the pressure from politicians repeating the scary words that are being said by Dario and others."
His argument is direct: regulatory pressure driven by fear is simply redirecting who benefits from it.
"As a result, they are going to try and they are already trying to force either natural enforcement or politicized enforcement upon the model providers in a way that is ultimately going to benefit Chinese open source model providers."
@friedberg frames this as an economic and strategic threat, not just a policy disagreement:
"That is a scary thing because we are going to damage our own kind of economic viability."
His core point cuts through the noise around AI doomsday rhetoric:
"You can't just stop AI."
He argues that political and social pressure to restrict AI doesn't make the technology disappear. It simply shifts the advantage elsewhere.
"By stopping AI or trying to stop AI through this political action and social behavior, you are fundamentally going to give someone else the advantage because the AI isn't going to go away."
Friedberg closes with his central thesis, that restriction doesn't neutralise AI, it just changes who controls it:
"What you will do is you will force the hand of someone else to now have an unfair advantage because you're unfairly restricting models and your access to those models."
Now this is utterly ridiculous. I have no doubt that @BobbyMarks42 was told what he said he was told (He’s incredible at what he does) — but there is no way in hell @FCHWPO is the 7th-best player on any team in the NBA. He may be the best 2-way player in the league. Yes, it’s me saying this. Folks be on some b.s. Stop It!
LeBron on the Draft lottery:
"During the lottery drop, Cleveland got the No. 1 pick? I just don't think that was a coincidence. Let's keep LeBron home. You know what? Ewing to the Knicks. Rose to the Bulls. I understand the assignment guys."
