Well done Matthew Gullick QC, who has done his job properly and professionally. Barristers don't choose their clients. The law itself though, allowing the @MoJGovUK to refuse compensation to virtually anyone wrongly convicted, is an utter disgrace. https://t.co/1VG0CKiKkM
Those who are falsely accused suffer greatly - as do their families - including children - often targeted by vigilantes, they also lose out financially, whereas the false accuser gains! So, so wrong! Absolute travesty & shameful for this country to be involved in such injustice!
@sheila18507203@juliehealy67 the fallout from false accusations goes on for years devastating lives. I am into £000's for legal fees I have lost family members for ever. Police and CPS do not see the damage caused by fantasists and mentally disturbed people who for a multitude of reasons make up stories.
If you've been affected by false allegations, please follow @FalselyAccusedD & join us in raising awareness of False Allegations. Falsely Accused Day takes place on 9th September and is a focal point for anyone affected, either directly or indirectly, to make their voices heard.
“Strategies for improving public perception of wrongful convictions should be explored, and specific mental-health systems should be established to support those who are wrongfully accused.”

And the Police didnt find those texts because they just wanted a conviction. Liam is a wonderful clever sensible hard working individual & he would have gone to prison had it not been for his lawyer finding those text messages before trial! Police are not fit for purpose!
Our family was failed at every stage of the justice system & we will never trust again. Instead of protecting us they chose to destroy us, just like the family below.
This is happening daily to 000s innocent ppl. We must stop it!
“Everyone deserves true and honest justice and a system that stands for just that.”

Genuine question
Why do #CourtofAppeal refuse to recognise/acknowledge “repressed memory” is a myth?
Many innocent ppl convicted of crimes that didn’t happen! Surely you don’t agree with Innocent ppl being persecuted by #justicesystem they trusted to protect them
@stuart268 You cannot make a false allegation by accident. That false allegation is made with the logical premise to undermine someones professional reputation. #harassment
@juliehealy67 some plan their lies to inflict maximum damage and get maximum compensation. Some start with one lie to get attention the have to tell 100 lies to cover up the first one. Lies damage lives irrepairably.
@falseclaimskill Exactly, but some false accusers do not need the compensation money. They make false allegations out of nothing but malice, revenge. These kinds of people need some kind of mental support. I hope they get it soon, they have issues that they need to address.
False accusers of any kind need to be held to account. False allegations are an act of intention to hurt or to undermine someone's reputation. You cannot "accidentally" make a false allegation. #liars#malice
And around we go…
The small number of prosecutions of false accusers leads people to assume that false accusations are rare. They’re not. They’re just far more difficult to prosecute because unlike sex crimes, you need positive proof
