Home Office worker who granted asylum applications in return for thousands of pounds has been jailed.

Imran Mulla, 39, from Blackburn, Lancashire, worked in the asylum team and manipulated the system to overturn a refused asylum claim.

He was jailed at Preston Crown Court for four and a half years after admitting immigration offences and bribery.

NEWS JUST IN. Still no response from Portsmouth council or its leader on the weekends storm. But today the council have recommended Portsmouth twin with a town in Palestine to show ‘solidarity’. Their own report admits there’s no documented evidence or business case to show a benefit.

Whilst residents want their council to fix potholes, Portsmouth wants us to twin with a town in the middle of a war zone 2000 miles away

One of the main aims of a Twinning agreement is student exchange. Anyone willing to send their kids there right now? What business improvements will this bring or tourist?
