It does a brilliant job explaining what white Christian nationalism is & why its such a danger to our democracy. Go see it. Take someone with you. And then get ready to push back.

Texas trying to force this mom of 2 kids to grow a fatally sick fetus in her body until natural birth though it will not live. It’s cruel & inhumane & current law in TX. A law that every Republican in the TX Legislature voted for. There are no moderate Republicans on the ballot.
SCOOP: The Texas Historical Commission removed books on slavery from plantation site gift shops.
An agency spokesperson claimed that the move had nothing to do with politics. Internal emails show otherwise. My latest for @TexasMonthly.

Greg Abbott's school funding plan gave $0 to our public schools.
Abbott failed to support our #txed students, teachers, and neighborhood schools.
I'm proud to stand with the pro-public education majority in the Texas House ready to fully fund our schools. #txlege
Voucher scams are on the floor of the Texas House today.
These scams defund our public schools and give our taxpayer dollars to unaccountable private schools.
I will never vote for a voucher scam.

Public schools serve 5.4 million kids & are funded $40 billion below the natl average in per pupil $. Our teachers make $7000 below the natl average in pay.
We must fix the basics & ensure the best teacher in the classroom for #TxEd school children. No gimmicks. No vouchers.
You can't make this stuff up. The past chair of the House Pub Ed Cmte, who oversaw an unlawful cap on how many kids could receive SpEd, now lobbies for vouchers in the name of kids who need SpED services.
The cap was the most harmful TX edu policy decision in the last 20 years.
While @GovAbbott continues to waste taxpayer dollars pushing an unpopular voucher scam, TX remains $40 Billion below the nat’l average in per student funding.
No more gimmicks. No vouchers. It’s time to fully fund our neighborhood schools.
"...maybe that’s one less fourth grade teacher,” a @TEAinfo official said about the outcome of a voucher.
But it's more than 1 less teacher. If only 1% of public school students received a voucher under the proposed #txlege plan, the district I represent would lose 33 teachers.
It will take $40 Billion to get Texas to natl average in student funding.
Where will $ come from & how do we sustain?
1) TX has @ $45 Billion in the treasury;
2) and most Texans would then keep tax $ in their local schools instead of sending Recapture $ to the State.
I'm proud to author the Fully Fund Our Future Act.
Instead of spending our hard-earned tax-dollars on welfare for the wealthy through a private school voucher scam, we should invest in ALL students and FULLY FUND our local schools.
Our children deserve nothing less.

The Governor’s bribe is immoral. Texas schools are $40 Billion behind the national average in per student funding. Texas parents demand @GregAbbott_TX do his job & expand the call to fund our schools.
@GovAbbott is hoarding billions in taxpayer $ that belongs to Texas students.
Imagine sitting on a $45 Billion surplus courtesy of TX taxpayers & thinking that $5 Billion for public schools is acceptable when TX schools are $40 Billion below natl average in student funding.
They aren’t even trying.

The fight over vouchers in Texas is coming to a head. @RANewsTX and @HoustonChron collaborated to illustrate the narrative.
It is more than just Wilks and Dunn. Other billionaires are playing too.
Vouchers aren't about kids. It's about money, religion, & race.

My Administration just approved $37 million in debt cancellation for 1,200 borrowers whose colleges took advantage of them or closed abruptly, bringing us to $117 billion in student loan debt relief for 3.4 million borrowers.
We'll use every tool we can to get borrowers relief.
Yes but this is what we see in TX too. Rs who want to be considered “moderate” but fully align w/ anti-choice, anti-lgbtq, CRT fear-mongering. They want the label, but they also want to be free to impose their religious interpretations, discriminate and endanger certain groups.
