Christopher Rice, 35, appeared on petition at Forfar Sheriff Court in Angus today charged with the murder of Minnie Merriman.

Minnie was found with serious injuries by emergency services crews at Elliot Industrial Estate in nearby Arbroath early on Monday morning. She was taken to hospital where she passed away from the injuries inflicted.

How could anyone murder their own child? Utterly sickening and this tragic case is exactly why we must reinstate the death penalty for such appalling acts of violence against the innocent.

Avon and Somerset Police have launched a manhunt and are appealing for witnesses following a serious sexual assault on an 11-year-old girl in Bath.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s or 40s with a distinctive neck tattoo. He was wearing a T-shirt, shorts, and a cap at the time of the incident.
