110 CDL schools emergency-closed. Tied to 5,000 drivers who failed English on the roadside. Another 160-plus on the chopping block — some had no classroom, class in a bus, no yard, no big rig to train on. Instructors who couldn’t even read the book. Licenses handed out without a real DMV test.

Everybody who came through those schools is now in the crosshairs.
So they’re not “quitting.” They’re disappearing. Lose the job or risk getting sent home. They picked disappearing.

American went to buy Walgreens brand blood glucose test strips. She takes the box up to the register to buy it

The price should be $30 but it rings up as $75. The issue turned out to be that the people stocking the shelves put the ones that were supposed to be behind the pharmacy counter on the regular shelves

But they are the exact same test strips, same box, same amount of strips, just a different barcode but everything else is the same

The box behind the pharmacy counter sells for $75 for people with insurance. The one on the same is $30

So if you have insurance and pay at the pharmacy the price is $45 more

What are we even doing anymore… our healthcare system is such an absolute scam

Regarding Lindsay Clancy, even if she’s totally nuts (which I grant that she is) I don’t believe in insanity defenses. Why? Every murderer is insane. So… do we let them all off easy or just the insane ones you sympathize with?

That’s the destination of your logic train.

The lady in this video nails a lot of the important points women supporting her need to hear. Once you accept insanity defenses, there is no end to insanity defenses if you’re an intellectually honest person.

To kill an innocent person, you have to be some kind of crazy. To rape someone, you have to be insane. I accept that they’re insane and I want them locked away in prison where they can’t hurt anyone else. Period.

But what about rehabilitation? We tried it. Her name was Constance Fisher. She killed 3 of her kids, got 5 years of mental health care after a not guilty by reason of insanity verdict and got out. She had 3 more kids and killed them too 11 years later. Really want to take that gamble again? I don’t. Lock her up, for life or give her the chair.

Enough is enough. Your feelings can get people killed. The 3 dead children: DAWSON, CORA and CALLAN deserve justice and that needs to override any feelings you might have about Lindsey’s mental state. Her lawyers admitted everything we need to know in her civil lawsuit where she’s trying to win monetary damages: She strangled all three of them. That’s not a prosecutor or the state saying that. That’s HER lawyers who present it as a FACT in her lawsuit. She did it. She doesn’t deny she did it. Enough is enough. And yes, I think young men should be VERY cautious dating anyone who thinks she should get off easy here.

Nobody washed wool, and that is the part that sounds wrong now.

The jumper hung out for a morning and came back in. The blankets came off the bed in May, went over the line in the sun for a day, and sat in the airing cupboard until October, and plenty of them went ten years without ever meeting water. A gansey went out on a boat for a fortnight and was hung on a nail.

Say that in 2026 and people look at you.

Wool takes moisture into the core of the fibre instead of leaving it on the surface, about a third of its own weight before it even feels damp, and the keratin locks up the compounds that make a smell and declines to hand them back. Bacteria need water sitting on a surface. There isn't one. Hang it in cold air overnight and everything leaves.

Polyester does the reverse on every count. It pushes water away and it loves oil, so your own grease sits on the outside of the fibre with the bacteria on top of it. That is why a gym top stinks after forty minutes, and stinks again coming out of a hot wash, and why the sports trade now sells you an antibacterial treatment to fix a problem it caused by choosing the fibre.

Babies slept in wool, under wool, in a freezing bedroom, with not a gram of flame retardant in the room. Wool needs a far higher temperature to catch than any synthetic, it will not melt onto skin, and it has a habit of smothering itself. In 1972 America made flame resistance a legal requirement in children's sleepwear. The industry did not switch to wool. It kept the cheap synthetic and sprayed it with a chemical called Tris, and five years later Tris came off children's pyjamas over concerns it caused cancer.

The safe option was standing on a hillside the whole time, growing itself back every summer.

This is the fibre the country was built on. By the eighteenth century woollen cloth was over half of everything Britain sold abroad, and the Speaker of the House of Lords still sits on a sack of it, put there in the fourteenth century so Parliament could not forget where the money came from.

Terylene was invented in Accrington in 1941. Acrylic followed in the fifties. Then in 1979 an American mill knitted polyester into something fluffy and called it fleece, which is the cheekiest act of naming in the history of cloth.

By 2022 a British fleece was worth under 75p a kilo and the farmer saw about 26p of it. Shearing costs him roughly £1.50 a sheep, and he has to do it whether anyone wants the wool or not, because an unshorn sheep gets flystrike and dies badly. He pays to take the coat off and then cannot give it away. Farmers have been photographed burning a thousand fleeces in a heap, because the bonfire is cheaper than the lorry to the depot.

Every wash of the stuff that replaced it sends hundreds of thousands of plastic fibres down the drain, through the treatment works, into the water, into the fish, back round to you.

The fibre that never needed washing lost to the fibre that has to be washed constantly and poisons the water every time it is.

The flocks are there, the graders are there, the mills are still turning. The only thing missing is demand, and you are holding a piece of that.

Old wool blankets sit in every charity shop in the country for about a fiver, and the old ones are the good ones. Buy two, and put them on the bed in October.

Then leave the jumper unwashed, hang it out the window overnight in the frost, and put your face in it in the morning.

There are two ways to read the Bible: 1- you can interpret the Bible through your experience. For example, if God hasn’t done a miracle through you, then miracles aren’t for today for certainly you’ve experienced everything God does with humans. 2-You read the Bible and change your experience to be congruent with His word. So if you read, “These signs will follow those who believe- then a series of miracles are mentioned as signs that believers participate in; and you look at the list and none of those signs are following you; you start pursuing God to change your experience to match the scriptures.
