Internet friends, I’m thrilled to share our work out today in @Nature! We've developed a label-free, single-molecule method using high-finesse microcavities, enabling us to profile molecules in solution. 1/10 https://t.co/5CUta2jDOD
Absolutely over the moon to have won the best talk prize at @S3IC_Conference. It was an incredible few days interacting with so many amazing scientists who all love single-molecules! Very much looking forward to the next one.
There are many more authors on the paper each of whom were invaluable and wonderful to work with. I’ll be setting up to run this experiment in @Cambridge_Uni@CamMicroscopy, if you’re interested and want to know more or collaborate, get in touch! 10/10

Randy: A brilliant, creative, infectiously excited scientist and one of the greatest minds I’ve worked with. It was an absolute privilege to be a postdoc in the Goldsmith group and we wouldn’t have achieved this without the support of a fantastic PI. 9/10
Should have some exciting paper news to share in the coming weeks as well, my maternity leave hasn’t been all about relaxing 😂 😫
I’ll aim to keep you all entertained with various goings on as they happen. (4/4)
Been pretty absent on here for the past 12 months, A LOT has gone on…
✈️ Moved back to Cambridge, UK from Madison WI, US.
🏡 Bought a house.
👶 Became a mother to a wonderful, funny, crazy little boy.
🔬Interviewed for a new job (6 weeks postnatal 🤷♀️).
😱Got new job…. (1/4)
I’m excited to get stuck into a goldmine of awesome science and work with an incredible team to improve imaging at Cambridge. I’ll be working 3 days a week to ensure I still get important time with my family. I’m sure it’ll be a challenge but I’m determined 💪(3/4)
I managed >2 yrs in the US without once being called Lisa-Marie, 1 month back in the UK and I’ve been exclusively called Lisa-Marie by every new person I’ve interacted with. Might just accept defeat and formally change my name.
This project has challenged me scientifically (and emotionally) in ways I didn’t think I could manage. Through all the peaks and valleys, I absolutely loved it. I think I’m quite ready for another adventure.
Friday marked the end of two incredible years as a postdoc in the Goldsmith group, it was an emotional bitter-sweet day. I’ll miss working with such a phenomenal group of people who I’m lucky enough to call friends BUT we also submitted our paper!

I’m looking forward to the final phase of my fellowship back in Cambridge to explore new applications of this technology as well as continuing to work with the Goldsmith group to develop it further. We haven’t found the limits yet!
