Thanks for the warm welcome! I’m excited to cover the wealth side of things after years of focusing just on institutional asset management. It’s an area that’s growing in importance and I’m happy to be on the front lines!
The AdvisorHub team is growing, and I'm excited to welcome @LisaOFu as Associate Editor. She'll be bolstering our wealth coverage with a focus on asset management. Send scoops her way!
@ungarino “Stick to the fax” 💀 Your understanding is solid and if your sources are solid, the stories are solid. Plenty of old folks making the same mistakes over and over so not sure more experience always leads to better insight 🙃
CPPIB is taking extreme measures to offload some of its real estate investments. Bloomberg reports that the pension giant sold off its 29 percent stake in 360 Park Ave S for $1.
Worth noting that it co-owned the building along with GIC, Singapore's SWF.

Legislation proposed by California Rep. Schiff aims to ease the home insurance crisis and reduce rates through the creation of federal reinsurance. https://t.co/sOsYXYa7eo
@RezaC1@ariccio@BobaCyclist@placardabuse “30% of adult New Yorkers (approximately 1.9 million people) ride a bike” per the city’s own website. Bicycles being only for children only applies to the suburbs where you have to drive them to the park to even ride
@hughmongus2132 @tastefullysaucy Investors pick the strategies. Maybe ask them to exclude certain investments or get involved in proxy voting? Some of these lines people are drawing are conspiracy theories used to distract from holding actual politicians accountable. This guy’s job isn’t stock picking
@tastefullysaucy Can’t believe I have to say this but it’s unlikely her husband is the single largest shareholder in any company. Also BlackRock is an investment manager that invests *on behalf* of investors. They make money off fees. He’s not a direct beneficiary
@JessicaLexicus I’m a big fan of a lot of office investors upgrading ventilation. The air in the Nuveen-owned office I’m in now always feels fresh and I (and my team) have yet to face any illness. Originally thought it might be bunk but I’m a real believer now
I know who the other journalists are because we always end up sitting on conference room floors by the outlets. There are never enough chairs in the area
Someone needs to tell the Tik Tokers that the “journalism aesthetic” isn’t blazers, cute coffees and high heels.
We are over caffeinated, over worked menaces trying to get records and sleep.
BlackRock and other money managers spent years rolling out sustainable funds. Now they’re abandoning an increasing number of those products in the US https://t.co/MvJbwPqLet
Not sure who’s doing the formatting for earnings or if it’s always been this way. But I just can’t accept this. (000s)!? In my house we write it out in italics
The acclaimed investment office led by Rip Reeves -- the new CEO of @iimag--is no more. AEGIS insurance has outsourced the $6B+ portfolio and terminated its pension plan.

“Between 1970 and 1990, an average of 16 people per year died in Arizona from ‘exposure to excessive natural heat.’ Between 1990 and 2015, the average rose to 38. In 2020 it was 210, and 2022 came in at 257.”

In other news, the AQI in NYC is crappy and getting worse… again. Wouldn’t the time for the likes of @NYCMayor and @GovKathyHochul to start warning the public and handing out free masks be today, instead of waiting till the days after the peak of this crisis?
