The President of the United States is threatening to commit war crimes and wipe out a "whole civilization" — all because he started a disastrous war of his own making and had no plan and no strategy for how to end it.
This is abhorrent, and the American people do not support this.
Trump's recklessness is needlessly putting our brave service members in harm's way, destroying America's global standing, and making life even more unaffordable for the American people.
We must all stand against this and oppose funding this illegal war of choice.
We’re from Jersey, baby! Book bans are not 👏
‘There is no better way for our children to prepare for the future than to read freely,’ remarked Governor Phil Murphy as he signed the Freedom to Read Act.
This new law prohibits public schools and libraries from banning books, protecting librarians who stand up against censorship. New Jersey is now the third state, following Illinois and Minnesota, to take a stand against book bans.
This move comes as book bans have skyrocketed. According to PEN America, the number of books banned during the 2023-24 school year tripled from the previous year, with more than 10,000 books being removed.
(🚨) REMINDER (please RETWEET): since 2000, Republicans' Election Day gameplan has been to use various means to ensure that the longest voting lines will be in Democratic precincts.
Go to the polls prepared to wait—and whatever you do, DO NOT leave the line! It's what they want.
Kind of amazing how long 8-10 seconds actually is. And how fast in my mind I went through all the possibilities: big truck on my street, high wind, airplane. And decided immediately. Nope it's not any of those things. We're having an earthquake. Whole house shook in northern NJ.

The unpredictability of grief surprised me. One minute I was fine, thinking happy thoughts about my departed loved one, and then BAM, hit by a crippling wave. Often triggered by something small... A food aroma, the cut of someone's clothing, a scrap of song lyrics, a typeface.
It's a pleasure to edit the craft essays section @CleaverMagazine . Especially getting to work with contributors like @fried12 on a cool piece like this one.
"My students get the multiverse. Their eyes light up when I say the word. After all, it’s an idea that is everywhere these days."
THE FICTION MULTIVERSE, or What Happens Next. Or next, or next…, a craft essay by John Fried, in Cleaver. @fried12

A 6 year old can carry a gun in public in the state of Missouri.
In Texas, an 18 year old can buy two AR-15s and 1,600 bullets in the span of two days.
In the state of Florida, you can carry concealed weapons and firearms without a background check, training or a license.
But a woman seeking a safe medication abortion cannot buy mifepristone.
Love this soundtrack to this day. My much older sister took me, age 12, to see the musical on Broadway with original cast. Made a huge impression, helping me see a story of humans, not quite what I was being taught in Catholic grade school.
My Catholic HS principal got on the loudspeaker every Easter b4 spring break and warned to not listen or see #JesusChristSuperstar . Guess who ran out and bought the album as soon as she saved enough babysitting money. #JCSuperstar
