@JudiGatson @Molly_Spearman The gap between at-risk students and students performing on or above grade-level is going to grow even larger.

@JudiGatson @Molly_Spearman DHEC site says schools should consult with local medical officials on how the virus is spread, etc. That’s what ~50 pediatricians tried to do. Several board members not in agreement with plan.Tried to put to vote.Believed plan would be board decision not an admin decision

Superintendent Spearman says that in Charleston- they've set up plexiglass around student desks, are thoroughly cleaning buses, training modules for staff when students return back to in-person classes. Some districts pushing start date back to give more prep time. @wachfox

@JudiGatson Yes, understand your point. Be smart and safe. It can be done. Would love to hear coverage on the free/public online schools available to parents. SC Connections and other charter schools have proven curriculums in place w/teachers proficient & comfortable teaching virtually.😊

[Lisa Vipperman @LisaVipperman]

@TreyWalker @henrymcmaster Parents should have choice. For those wanting virtual learning, there are already FREE public school options in place. SC Connections Academy. Why are districts trying to create a virtual curriculum when one already exists?
