Is it possible to be a champion for kids and complain about them at the same time?
Be careful how you discuss student problems. Is it from a place of support and solutions?
Or from a place of superiority and resentment?
Sometimes, kids make bad choices. Sometimes, they really screw up. We hold them accountable... but we can also extend some grace. They need to know we still like them. They need to learn a lesson... but it is never constructive when they feel alienated from us.

And the average kid smiles about 300 times a day.

It’s hard for me to conceive of anything more important … than helping a student feel valued. And that’s one reason relationships are so important. It is through personal connections, that we communicate to them their worth. Our investment in them, tells them they matter.
Your failures won’t stop you.
Your mistakes won’t ruin you.
Your circumstances won’t define you.
In the end, you’ll have the last word by how you respond to your failures, mistakes, and circumstances. #FutureDriven
