There's a reason muscles only grow under resistance, why diamonds only form under pressure, why the deepest faith almost always emerges from the hardest seasons. Hardship isn't a detour from God's plan — sometimes it's the very classroom He uses to shape us.
That doesn't make it easy. It doesn't make the heartache lighter or the waiting shorter. But it does mean nothing is wasted. Every difficult step you've taken, every prayer prayed through tears, every morning you got up when staying down felt easier — God sees it. And He's building something in you that will honor Him for years to come.
June 10 · Center Point, Alabama
He showed up to work in his uniform on the day he was supposed to walk across a stage.
Timothy Harrison was 18 years old. It was graduation day at Woodlawn High School. And instead of getting ready with his classmates, he clocked into his shift at the Waffle House in Center Point, Alabama, because the cap and gown pickup had passed him by, and he had no ride to the ceremony, and at some point he had quietly decided that today just wasn't going to be his day.
His manager, Cedric Hampton, saw him walk in and stopped.
Timothy had the day off. Why was he here?
When Cedric heard the answer, he made a decision in about three seconds: not on my watch.
What happened next, in a Waffle House in Alabama, was something you don't forget.
Staff scrambled to track down a cap and gown. Coworkers passed around cash, for a dress shirt, a tie, pants, shoes. Customers sitting at the counter overheard what was happening and reached into their wallets without being asked. Within a few hours, Timothy Harrison was standing in that restaurant fully dressed for graduation, looking like someone who had planned this all along.
A coworker drove him across town. They arrived just in time. Timothy took his seat with his graduating class.
He walked.
After the story spread, Lawson State Community College offered him a full scholarship, a future that hadn't existed that morning when he'd quietly given up on his own day.
"I just came in to work. I wasn't expecting any of that."
— Timothy Harrison
Some people decide a moment is over. And then there are the people who refuse to let them.

God's plan for your life was never small.
It was never safe.
It was never comfortable.
If you've been playing it safe, it might be time to ask whether you're trusting Him or just avoiding the risk.

Some of you are thriving: business growing, family expanding, doors opening. Others are in a heavy season: illness, grief, job loss, anxiety. Hebrews 12 speaks to both. Enjoy the blessings, but don’t worship them. Anchor your struggle, too, in the one kingdom that never shakes
Dear God, I pray for the woman who is embracing who she is in You. Lord, she is making changes and choices in light of Your love, and she is finally letting Your healing in. Remind her when life looks different than it used to that every day she walks with You is a gift. Amen.

Before I ever felt God‘s hand on my shoulder, I felt a similar peace on a mountain top.
Matt and I fell in love on a hike.
Our first date was a hike, he proposed on a hike, we hike with our kids.
We pulled ourselves out of hardships and health scares on mountain tops.
But, at the time of these photos, I didn’t have a Church or even even consider myself a Christian.
My only connection to God was through nature.
My epiphany this morning is that every moment of peace experienced, every hardship and every success, was Christ helping me find my way back to him.
He was so patient.
It is overwhelming sometimes, to think about how many times he saw me fail.
I don’t know how to explain it other than one day, I felt his presence in a very real way and since that day he hasn’t left my side.
I was singing in church and felt his hand on my shoulder.
I started crying and just let it happen. I was in so much pain and so overwhelmed with fear and loneliness.
And at that moment, he was there.
I can’t even type these words without crying.
That was a year ago.
It felt like magic.
This morning, I am so full of gratitude to be a Christian with an incredible church, family, and the natural world all given to me (and you) by God.
My prayer is that all of you have felt this or feel this one day too.
God isn’t attached to any ideology or political party.
He is there for every single person on this earth, and your life will be irrevocably changed for the better when you let him in.
