#OvercomingDyslexia addresses the difficulty in speech. Does your dyslexic struggle with word retrieval? Ex: solution vs. situation This is common; if this sounds like your child, I try adding "word banks" or "multiple-choice" testing to the IEP. @DyslexiaFound @DyslexiaAssist

I’ve been learning about trauma- informed practices for the last 5 yrs. But not once, in my PD,has anyone discussed the trauma Ss endure when they can’t read. Is it possible that schools are causing trauma by not teaching Ss how to read? Steven Dykstra thinks so. @literacypodcast
