Technology use in a science classroom is overlooked by most teachers, because it does not look like "new" technology. What about graphing data in an excel sheet? Technology is man putting science to work. #EDUC501#edtech_isu@LandenTetil@JBurnsy18
Does making a worksheet digital instead of physical paper qualify as using technology as "just using it to use it"? With COVID-19 flaring up again, I will be making all of my graded work digital to reduce the paper I handle. #EDUC501@JBurnsy18 @FontaniniJulie @edtech_isu
This online resource https://t.co/HmpLUSeDrh is a completely online genetics unit. My key take away from reviewing it, is that given this past semester online, this would have been very effective at meeting all of the standards #EDUC501#ISUedTech
@Christi21780114 @jvz_isu @JBurnsy18 @FontaniniJulie @HornbergerTeri@imamoucher@IAStateAlum@LandenTetil@GodwinEliz22 Social media is designed to grab the attention of the user and keep their attention. I feel that too much time on the phone reduces their overall creativity. This article is what came to mine when I read your comment.

I believe that Reddit is a good tool that inspires a person to think deeper on a topic before they reply to a thread. After viewing everyone's reply, you try to make yours unique. This is critical thinking at it's finest. #EDU501
@LandenTetil No, a separation between school and social life needs to exist. To integrate the two, will only lead to more behavior issues when students are off task.
I believe Reddit is an effective tool, but not appropriate to allow students to directly be on Reddit in school. As the comments are not moderated, there can be a lot of inappropriate language. #EDU501
This is not Reddit specific, but I continue to follow Facebook science groups. This video was posted in one group and I feel it is important for non experts to watch. https://t.co/LCehh1bj3C

Reddit is an effective tool that can be used to find discussions on just about any topic and the reading level is generally appropriate for a high school level. #EDU501
@JBurnsy18 Generally, I use Facebook to find articles from different science groups I follow. I did explore twitter some, but it does not seem as good as Facebook. #EDU501
I am exploring Reddit. It has been years since I was on Reddit unless someone told me to read a specific thread. Things are different but still similar. #EDU501
Technology is anything that enhances oneβs ability to solve a problem or complete a task, that does not mean a computer needs to be involved. #EDU501
@BFSkinner, I believe specific lab techniques in a science classroom are purely conditioning and they need to be followed the exact same way each time when conducting research. #EDU501
@JohnDeweyβs research on learning by doing connects well with a science classroom. Incorporating technology and the NGSS will only enhance learning by doing. #EDU501
