I really enjoyed this debut novel by Daniel Tam-Claiborne and reviewed it in today's @BookReviewsAsia. The story drew me in, but his writing is what I'll remember.
I always look forward to sharing my annual list of favorite books, movies, and music. Today I’ll start by sharing some of the books that have stuck with me long after I finished reading them.
Check them out this holiday season, preferably at an independent bookstore or library!

#Shanghai history Twitter: can anyone ID this uniform?
The only clues we have are that our correspondent’s grandmother, who is in this 1933 photo, went to a girls school in Shanghai and was on the All-China basketball team.
Any clues gratefully accepted!
