Thank you again to @LitaCabal for hosting this great Townhall.
With unemployment numbers up and cost of living pressures increasing, we will continue to push the Liberal government to change course.
In 2 days:
- Mark Carney appoints a Housing Minister who nearly tripled housing costs as Vancouver Mayor.
- Mark Carney announces he will not introduce any budget this year.
- Mark Carney’s Minister Guilbeault says “no” to any new pipelines.
The last 2 days look a lot like the last 10 years.
Meet Pope Leo XIV: A New Chapter for the Church Begins
With humility and hope, Pope Leo XIV steps into the papacy as the 268th leader of the Roman Catholic Church. Known for his deep compassion, unwavering faith, and commitment to unity, he carries a message of peace, reform, and spiritual renewal.
His papal motto: “Veritas et Caritas” — Truth and Love — reflects his vision of a Church rooted in honesty, mercy, and service to all.
As the world watches with anticipation, may his leadership inspire faith, bridge divides, and bring the light of Christ to every corner of the globe.

Congratulations to Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost on his election as Pope Leo XIV!
I join with Catholics in Canada and around the world in expressing our best wishes and prayers for Pope Leo XIV as he takes his place as the 266th successor of St. Peter.
The Catholic Church is the spiritual home of millions of Canadians. It also works within and beyond its walls to advance the common good, carrying on Christ's ministry to help the poor, the vulnerable and all who suffer. This is an appropriate day to also recognize the role the Catholic community has played in shaping our shared Canadian experience.
As the first Pope from North America, I am hopeful that his tenure will be particularly meaningful for Canadian Catholics. May his tenure as Supreme Pontiff help lead the Catholic Church to renew the faith of its members, and help promote peace, justice and truth throughout the world.
Celebrating Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day)— May 8, 1945!
On this day, the Allies officially accepted Nazi Germany’s unconditional surrender, marking the end of World War II in Europe.
For Canada, it was a moment of pride, sacrifice, and national unity. Over one million brave Canadians served during WWII, and more than 45,000 gave their lives for freedom and peace.
Today, we honor their courage and remember Canada’s vital role in securing victory and defending democracy around the world.

It is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims and casualties of the tragic incident that occurred during the Lapulapu Block Party last night, April 26th.
What was meant to be a vibrant and meaningful celebration of our cultural pride and the heroism of Lapu-Lapu has turned into a moment of profound grief. It pains me deeply to learn that lives were lost and many others were affected—people who simply came to unite and celebrate as one community.
To the families who lost their loved ones, I grieve with you. My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and their families during this incredibly difficult time. My prayers are with you during this time, and I hope you find comfort and strength in the love and support of those around you.
To those who were injured or emotionally impacted, I wish you strength and healing in the days ahead.
In times like this, let us come together in compassion, offer support to those who need it most, and hold tightly to the spirit of resilience that defines us as Filipinos. May we find light in each other and honor the lives affected with dignity and care.

I am shocked by the horrific news emerging from Vancouver's Lapu Lapu Day Festival tonight.
My thoughts are with the Filipino community and all the victims targeted by this senseless attack. Thank you to the first responders who are at the scene as we wait to hear more.

The choice in this CHANGE election is clear:
A 4th Liberal term of even more reckless spending that doubled housing costs, doubled food bank line ups and doubled the debt.
OR
A new Conservative government that will deliver responsible spending to bring down inflation and lower prices for food and homes.
Vote Conservative. Vote for CHANGE.
Poilievre Unveils Plan for Real Change.
A bold new Conservative plan to bring down the cost of living, restore safety, and make life affordable again:
1. Slash the Liberal deficit by 70%—cutting wasteful spending, not essential services.
2. Lower income tax by 15%—putting $900 back in your pocket, $1800 for working families.
3. Build 2.3 million homes—cutting red tape, taxes, and costs by $100,000 per home.
4. Lock up repeat criminals—restore safe streets, for a change.
5. Put Canada First - For a Change.
Only Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives have a real plan for change—finally, for a change.
