Commencing 1st. October all BJP allegiance Lawyers across the country will start addressing Judges simply as Sir/Madam. No more Your Honor, mylord, Lordship, your ladyship etc. Let's see how it unfolds @sanjeevsanyal@BJP4India@arjunrammeghwal@TOIIndiaNews
There is a simple reason why this is the case. The Indian judiciary makes it impossible to punish petty crimes. The state apparatus is ultra-inefficient and beholden to local mafia elements, who gain political connections and take advantage of the inefficiency of the judiciary.
Fact check: True, It's a crony closed monopolistic system where closeness to power brokers, masquerading as judges, magistrates or enough money can buy you justice , while Ordinary Indians have to deal with nearly 5 crore (50 million) pending cases in District courts and nearly 70 lakhs(7 million) in high courts
What Must Be Done
1. Time-Bound Justice – No endless adjournments; strict deadlines for all cases.
2. Accountability of Judges – Transparent system for reviewing judges’ performance and decisions.
3. Stop Easy Bail for VIPs – Law should be equal for politicians and common citizens.
4. Check Anti-National Voices – Courts must act firmly against those who misuse free speech to weaken India.
5. Curtail VIP Lawyer Monopoly – Supreme Court must not become a private club for a few senior lawyers.
6. Respect Parliament – The Supreme Court must respect the mandate of the people’s representatives.
7. Court Vacations Reform – Justice cannot go on vacation when citizens are waiting for relief.
8. Use Technology & AI – Digital hearings and AI can reduce backlog, making justice faster.
---
👉 India cannot become Viksit Bharat with a broken, biased judiciary. We need a system that is fast, fair, fearless, and accountable to the people — not one that protects a few elites and silences democracy.
1. Implement NJAC
2. Demolish collegium
3. Judges recruitment should happen only through exams and interviews.
4. Make a panel to verify the relationship of candidates with political parties, bureaucracy, foreign organizations, etc. along with their account statements.
5. Adequate provisions should be put in place to ensure that judges intruding into the legislature or showing biased behaviour can be removed without much trouble.
Brilliant ideas recommended.
May law ministry collect data on the performance of high courts / lower courts and rank their performance.
Education ministry already does it with National Institutional Ranking Framework. They provide this information annually.
This should be possible for high court and lower courts too, at least people should know how judicial system in their respective state is performing. Specially before investing millions in real estate, which often goes into litigation.
Judiciary in India is a black box. 🏛️ No performance reviews, no penalties for delays, and no consequences for bad judgments. Why do we tolerate this opacity? #FixTheCourts
The Archaic power of Contempt of court in tis context like hanging to death should be reserved only in the rarest of rare cases. It belongs to the dark ages. Judges need to understand this! Currently Judiciary neither enjoys public support nor positive opinion of the ppl #KeralaHighCourt
@MLJ_GoI@VPIndia@NLCLawIndia@pbhushan1
@barandbench Independence of judiciary doesn't mean no accountability. Contempt of court weapon is giving advantage to judiciary to work as per own whims and fancies. It is giving leverage law breakers/offenders in connivance with legal fraternity.They know how to take advantage of it.
[Columns] At the core of @sanjeevsanyal’s viral speech is the singular fact: Justice delayed is justice denied. And justice denied is development denied

@PranabC74013869 Control your bully tendency. Are you trying to muzzle the fundamental rights?
How many people will you intimidate?
Convince the district courts to agree to a feedback/survey of all litigants after the end of trial. Allow public opinion.
@adityak_law 1. OK.
2. Enough funds have been given by govt to courts. See the statistics.
Equipment have been lying unused in many trial courts.
3. What percentage of advocates & judges are willing to use eCourts website?
Acknowledge the problems. Improve own occupation fraternity.
@DeadlyLaw Appointing more judges is not solution. It lies in simplification of court procedures and enforcement of ethics in bar. Why not to reprimand advocates for pleading unlawful case. Bars to stop behaving like trade unions. Create benches of HCs at more no. of places.
@sanjeevsanyal
@DeadlyLaw “My Lord” is just symbolic of the barrier. The real reason for reform is economic impact of the Indian judicial system…
https://t.co/V1ffOTBU92
@DeadlyLaw every department have vacancy which being unfilled due to xyz reasons still govt. employee have ovetime to complete their allocated task either administrative/banks/others.why judiciary is exempted. Noe one is above law & constitution which preaches equality.
@DeadlyLaw If you don't have minimum courtesy to acknowledge what he said, how will you reform your outdated thinking.. c'mon it's not someone from govt who is telling this..Its people of India's opinion. U educated ppl itself are not ready to ack r reform then v il lose hope
@DeadlyLaw And increasing no. of Holidays?
You forgot to mention, despite vacant posts in Judiciary, with too much work, Indian judges take 100+ holidays!!
