@Tzor @SecretFire79 Of course the concelebrants constitute “multiple leaders.” The point is further proven by that. The deacon is not leading. The congregation is not leading. The priests, the priesthood, are leading. (As the ad orientum position makes more clear.)

@Michael53592091 @yesiwetmyplants @SecretFire79 Actually, your sarcasm reveals something important. The original reason for handholding was due to the part at the end, “for the kingdom…” and it was shown that it was added as local custom, not part of the prayer, as Protestants say it.

@CryptoOnlyCoims @SecretFire79 It is older than 12 years in other areas. It was imported and taught as “the right way,” so people did it out of obligation and confusion. It is 30 years now in my diocese. I am glad to see the fad as fading.

@jessigreerM @SecretFire79 It was imported to different areas at different times over 30 years. It was taught as “the correct way” so many people do it because they believe it is “right” not because they desire the posture.
