I think the way I've written it. Hopefully it comes across the way I meant it, but because of the subject matter I've tried really hard to make it disjointed and I suppose contradictory in parts. I've also tried really hard to avoid making it trauma porn and... 1/2
As much as I’m a proponent of calling out AI-written fics as a general without naming names, or when there’s obvious proof, I think the use of individual words and phrases is a tricky one as proof in and of itself. By now, (undeclared) AI fics have been rampant in fandom for a while and fanfic writers are almost always prolific fanfic readers too. A lot of writers will have read tons of AI fic without realizing it and so particular turns of phrases and wordings will inevitably have stuck in people’s mind. Writers have picked up phrases and vocabulary from reading since the beginning of writing. I need us to remember that specific words and phrases aren’t proof of AI writing in and of themselves. It needs to be excessive, repetitive and seen in COMBINATION with a host of other tells. Writing ‘unhurried’ five times in the same fic really isn’t standalone proof of anything other than that the writer might have read a lot of AI fic without knowing so.
As a fanfic reader I try to support writers leaving kudos, posting and recommending fics, telling the writers how amazing they are, but I do not usually comment on fics (Idk why tbh). I’ve seen that it’s important for writers so I’ll change my behavior and will try to coment. ❤️
There’s been a lot of discussion in my authors GC as well as on the TL lately about kudos, hits, ratios, stats, and summaries and what compels someone to read a fic.
I personally treasure my comments over and above every other statistic. To me, it means the most that someone not only took the time to click into my fic, to read it, and to click a little heart button, but they went so far as to type out what they thought and specific things they loved, to make sure I knew how much they appreciated my story.
With that in mind, I was thinking maybe we could start a thing where authors can share some comments they’re proud of and sprinkle them like fairy dust all over the timeline!✨✨✨
So to my fellow author friends, if you’re seeing this, I would love it if you would QRT, or comment below if you prefer, with some comments you’re proud of from a fic that you think deserves a bit more love, or maybe even just share some comments that made you feel proud of yourself! 🩷
I’ll go first! These are from If You Leave, my most recently posted fic. I’ll add the link in the comments!
Okay I’m going to hop on this train and share a few comments of the fic I’m the most proud of and think it deserves more than what it got. 🥺 Thank you to anyone who has read it 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Here is the link to Million Eyes if some of you are interested 🥺

@SweetieR08 Baby, I love you so much!!! We keep in touch outside this app (fortunately) but I’ve missed you here too. You’re one of the sweetest souls of this fandom. ❤️
