Reform UK published three separate policies today. Taken individually, each has its defenders. Taken together, they describe something coherent - and it isn't what they're selling.
At 10:26 this morning, @reformparty_uk posted Robert Jenrick's "British Workers First" plan. Three headline proposals: cut employer National Insurance from 15% to 13.8% for British workers only. Maintain 15% NI for foreign nationals. Introduce a Migrant Worker Levy on top.
This is not economic policy. It is a proposal to embed differential treatment in the tax system based on the nationality of a worker.
Under the Equality Act 2010, nationality is a protected characteristic under race. The Act says you must not be discriminated against because of your nationality, including your citizenship. (Equality Human Rights Commission) Jenrick's proposal would write that discrimination into the tax code and ask employers to administer it.
That is what Reform wants to replace the Equality Act with. Not freedom. A different hierarchy.
Then at 17:04, Nigel Farage posted that the Equality Act has "poisoned Britain with anti-White discrimination." No ambiguity in the framing. The Act is the problem. It needs to go.
Twenty-eight minutes later, at 17:32, Suella Braverman posted promising a Women and Motherhood Protection Act to back working mums.
Here is what that means in practice. Reform has vowed to scrap the Equality Act and the Employment Rights Act. The Women and Motherhood Protection Act would replace them, offering what Reform describes as "explicit breastfeeding rights" and extended deadlines for maternity discrimination claims. (Left Foot Forward)
The Equality Act currently makes it illegal to discriminate against people with protected characteristics, including pregnant women and those on maternity leave. It provides women with vital protections against being fired, demoted or treated unfavourably at work while pregnant and post-pregnancy. Analysis by the Labour Party estimated that as many as 500,000 pregnant women could be left without protection if the Act were scrapped. (Left Foot Forward)
The TUC said it was "galling" for Reform to expect women to be grateful for what amounts to a reduction in their rights. (Left Foot Forward)
So the sequence today is this. Jenrick proposes a tax system that discriminates by nationality, which the Equality Act currently prohibits. Farage declares the Equality Act has poisoned the country. Braverman promises to protect working mothers with the very legislation whose repeal would strip the protections working mothers currently hold.
The Equality Act is not a bureaucratic inconvenience. It is the primary legal instrument that makes all three of those proposals either illegal or impossible under current law.
That is not a coincidence. That is a programme.
Picture this.
A “Great Russian Real Estate Event” held in London. Selling plots of land in occupied Ukraine.
The British government would shut it down within hours.
Today, RIGHT NOW, there is a private, invitation-only event happening in London selling plots of land on *illegally occupied* Palestinian territory.
Companies with documented histories of building on West Bank settlements. They quietly removed ethnic cleansing crimes from their website the moment journalists started looking.
Gwyneth Paltrow (Gwynocide) is helping promote it.
Richard Burgon (in the video below) raised it in Parliament. Nothing was done.
140 Labour MPs wrote a letter. Nothing was done.
The event has went ahead anyway.
The UK government formally recognises Palestine as a state. Israeli settlements are ILLEGAL under international law, the British government itself says so in its own guidance.
And yet here we are.
One rule for Russia. Another rule for Israel.
@cathynewman@RobertJenrick Foreign super rich from US, Saudi Arabia, UAE, China are invited to buy off-plan new build homes as investments, which are then left empty.
This inflates the cost of housing for people trying to get on the home ownership ladder.
How does Jenrick feel about them?
Today marks ten years since Jo was killed.
Her belief was that we have more in common than that which divides us.
She was killed by a far right extremist who shouted "Britain first" ..prosecuters said the killing was an act of terrorism fueled by white supremacy and neo nazi ideology.
Rip Jo Cox 🙏
If you’re a trillionaire and you don’t wake up everyday with the desire to put a plate of food in front of every starving child across the entire world… then you are beneath contempt.
These are people campaigning for Rob Kenyon.
One of them is a sitting Wigan councillor. Yes, a Reform councillor for Shevington.
This is sickening.
A man who abused hundreds of children and vulnerable people over decades.
Reform treat it as a punchline.
“So let me get this straight: You started a war, got people killed, torched billions of dollars, threatened global oil supplies & ended up with basically the same deal I had - except Iran gets way more money. And I’m the one you call weak?? 😂😂😂”
Dear @SuellaBraverman
You are a brown woman.
Dear @ZiaYusuf
You are a brown man.
Nigel Farage does not like you.
He tolerates and uses you both for his own gain.
Remember that when it all goes tits up.... because it will.

Turns out the arson attacks on Starmer were arranged by Russia. Guess which 'patriot' helped spread the Russian misinformation and conspiracy bollocks around the attacks.
