#USMNT striker Folarin Balogun on his immediate reaction to red card:
“I think it was just important to stay calm. I never want to react out of anger and out of emotion. There’s still lots of people we’re inspiring, little kids, boys and girls who are watching, and we have to show them the correct way to handle things, even when you think it's unjust.”
On shaking ref’s hand postgame:
“As said, you can feel like something, injustice can happen to you. It’s not an excuse to be disrespectful… I'm aware that the World Cup might be the first time a lot of American viewers are tuning in. So it's important just to show people, whether things happen to you, good or bad, just to continue to be yourself.”
Tennessee coach Rick Barnes: We don't lose this game with those guys [Zakai Zeigler and Jahmai Mashack]. Those guys would never give up a lead like this. The guys we have now are more talented offensively, but the guys before wouldn't have let this happen.
Stopped by to see Kennesaw State take on West Georgia in an exhibition matchup. The Owls dominated from start to finish, showing why they were picked 2nd in the CUSA Preseason Poll.
Preseason POTY Simeon Cottle led the way with an efficient scoring night, making smart reads out of the PnR.
RJ Johnson looked sharp after missing last season with a shoulder injury, getting into the paint, creating kickouts, and finishing through contact. Don’t be surprised if he earns All-Conference honors.
Sophomore Ramone Seals showed real growth, attacking straight lines, hitting open threes, and rebounding well from the guard spot.
Freshmen Trey Simpson, Darius Washington III, Amir Taylor, and Kaden Rickard all made strong first impressions, continuing the Owls’ trend of impactful freshmen.
No Braeden Lue today, who was voted to the CUSA 2nd Team, but overall it was a strong showing for Kennesaw.
@hoopseen
After a great camp and insightful conversations with the coaching staff, I am truly blessed to have received my first Division I opportunity from the Air Force Academy (pending acceptance).
Bob Jones star Kaden Rickard has committed to Kennesaw State, he announced on social media.
The Class 7A all-state guard was previously committed to Murray State.
Due to the coaching change at Murray State, and after taking time to evaluate, I have decided to open my recruitment again. I want to thank Murray State for the opportunity.
