Max Objects Network. A 3D map of the Max/MSP ecosystem.
Explore it by yourself :
https://t.co/VSe2zSkMuQ
An interactive 3D viewer of all 1,165 Max, MSP, Jitter and Max for Live objects, clustered by their semantic neighborhoods (Louvain community detection on the see-also graph), navigable in your browser.
Search any object, follow its connections at depth 1 to 4, switch between cluster and domain colors, toggle between detail, hybrid and structure modes, fly through it via a live mini-map.
Why bother? Max is huge, and learning it often feels like wandering. Seeing the whole territory at once, with its dense neighborhoods and isolated islands, changes how you think about what to reach for next.
Built with Three.js and networkx, parsing the .maxref.xml files shipped with Max itself.
Dedicated to Darwin Grosse (1959-2022). His Art + Music + Technology podcast, his 20 Objects curriculum, and his quiet, careful presence in the Max community shaped how a lot of us learned, taught, and kept going. Years ago, Darwin gave me the full first see-also dataset that started this whole thing. He also reviewed a book I wrote about Arduino.

Big breakthrough. Peer-to-peer sync and audio routing over any local machine or local network. (hi @_vade )
Alpha/experimental, but the SDK is up and you can keep adding more!
There's now a bunch of Ableton Link Audio connectors for almost anything.
Notably, TouchDesigner.
Two CHOPs from the palette : Link Audio Send and Link Audio Receive.
Pipe your #Touchdesigner@1null1 audio into #Ableton Live, or into a Max patch, a VCV Rack session, an openFrameworks app, a Pure Data patch. Or do the reverse. Or wire TD straight to VCV with no #DAW in the middle. Every Link Audio host on the LAN sees every other one, in any direction.
The shared Link session timing is right there : tempo, phase, transport, peers, sample rate, channel count. Your TD network locks onto the session clock and stays in sync with whatever else is running.
No driver. No virtual cable. Just the local network.
Built on top of Ableton Link Audio by Ableton. The whole thing came out of @structurevoid0 's internal R&D, and we're giving it away.
Pretty sure it's the first time TouchDesigner speaks Link Audio. If we're wrong, tell us 🙂
Ready-to-use binaries, pay-what-you-want : https://t.co/828Bpj3coL
Full source code on GitHub for those who want to compile, dig in, learn how it works : https://t.co/WW5s21dJza
Open-source (GPL). Mac universal binary, Windows.
Try it, break it, tell me what you build with it 🙂
Just shipped a bunch of Ableton Link Audio connectors for almost anything.
Notably, VCV Rack.
Two modules : VOID LINK SEND and VOID LINK RECEIVE.
Ready-to-use binaries, pay-what-you-want :

Patch your VCV modular into Ableton Live, or into a Max patch, a TouchDesigner network, an openFrameworks app, a Pure Data patch. Or do the reverse. Or all of them at the same time. Every Link Audio host on the LAN sees every other one, in any direction.
The shared Link session is exposed as CV : tempo, phase, transport. The modular locks onto the session clock and stays in sync with whatever else is running.
No driver. No virtual cable. Just the local network.

Streaming audio from @Ableton Live to Reaper without any drivers. And both DAW can be on two different machines.
That's my Ableton Link Audio implementation within a pair of VST
Stay tune, it could land with all other connectors on next hours...
New release.
We just published ofxAbletonLinkAudio, an addon for openFrameworks that lets you stream real-time audio between your creative apps and Ableton Live, TouchDesigner, Max/MSP or VCV Rack — over the same local network, no complex setup, no virtual driver, no cable.

For those unfamiliar with openFrameworks: it's a C++ framework for coding your own creative applications — interactive installations, live performances, custom tools for artists.
Concretely: your oF app can now send or receive audio to/from Live (and vice versa). Sample-accurate, stereo, minimal latency. To our knowledge, this is the first public integration of this technology for openFrameworks.
Live 12.4 officially ships on May 5, 2026 and brings this technology (Ableton Link Audio) to the public release of Live. We timed the release so the oF ↔ Live bridge would be ready on day one.
And this is just the beginning: more connectors will be published as open-source in the coming days for TouchDesigner, Max/MSP, VCV Rack, and as VST/AU. Stay tuned.

ofxAbletonLinkAudio — new from Structure Void.
Ship audio between openFrameworks, Ableton Live 12.4, TouchDesigner, Max/MSP, VCV Rack.
No driver. No Jack. No Blackhole. Just network.
Sample-accurate. Lock-free. Auto-reconnect. MIT.
Live 12.4 drops May 5. Stay tuned — TouchDesigner, Max & VCV connectors are done and shipping soon.

When something goes wrong in a MIDI chain, the first question is always: what's actually being sent?
I built two Max for Live devices to answer exactly that.
- void.midi. cc.monitor
Real-time display of every Control Change message — value, channel, controller number. Instant feedback, zero configuration.
- void.midi.note.monitor
Every note, velocity, and channel, visualized as it happens. The kind of tool that should exist in every Live set by default.
These are the devices I reach for first when I'm teaching or debugging. So I made them free.
Grab both below:

Hey. Don't remember if I posted it here.
https://t.co/MTmJCI4Uik
This is a new max for live device I wanted to share. It extend randomness, constraints and scaling further.
I coded a specific external especially for it, in order to hit basically the level of zero latency.
I'm currently designing some other features.
And some other devices...
Feel free to use it and share it. 🤘🏻

Hi everyone, I’m proud to introduce VOID FILTER BOB.
This device is the result of a hardcore C++ port of Miller Puckette’s iconic [bob~] object (Pure Data) for Max, now packaged as a Max for Live device.
It is a 24dB/octave Moog Ladder filter that physically models electrical resistance for a highly expressive and unstable sound. It features zero latency, rock-solid stability, and an ultra-light CPU footprint.
Get the device here: https://t.co/ZvdnYFXO22
