One of the most important lessons I've learned over the past few years is that you never know who is watching you. Many of your opportunities start and end with how you act when you don't think you're relevant. Let that sink in.
Given the numbers of suffering and traumatized people, the trauma of this world is one of the supreme opportunities before the church today. Worshiping God means, in Jesus’ name, we listen and attend to those who are suffering. We MUST enter the trauma of shattered humanity.
Not a single word in the Beatitudes relates to human notions of what a kingdom is like. Human ideas of kingdom building focus on nation, race, tribe, military strength, and wealth. Jesus teaches that greatness in His kingdom is found in the character that reflects His likeness.
When the church shows “grace” to an abuser in response to a few approved words and some tears we have done added damage to the victim, risked the safety of other sheep and left the abuser with a disease that will rot his/her soul.
Last Fall we were excited about adding another member to our little family. I can't wait to do family photos with Jackson this year 🤎🤎🤎🤎

The act or cover-up of abuse kills. It kills hope, trust, safety, dignity, and love. Exposing such things gives life. It births hope, trust, safety, dignity and love.
