Finally. Ceasefire. So many feelings. Still can’t quite believe it. We’d been so close before. But also why did it take so long. Thousands of innocents dead. So much devastation. Let’s hope this lasts and the bombs don’t start again.
The NHS dentistry crisis is forcing thousands of people into dangerous DIY solutions while creating 'dental deserts' across the country. This is unacceptable.
The government must stop dragging its feet and act now to save NHS dentistry. Everyone deserves access to safe, reliable dental care when they need it.
If the riots represent the worst of Britain, the reaction to them represents the best.
We have seen so many local communities rejecting hatred and racism, standing in solidarity, and showing that we have a different vision for who we are as the British people.
""We are seeing our communities absolutely rejecting this hate and racism, deciding instead that they are going to stand in solidarity, that they are going to find a way to express that this does not happen in their name" @LaylaMoran
Action is needed now to support those in need and get our country back on its feet.
We urge the government to implement measures that protect pensioners and hardworking households, like reversing bank tax cuts and ensuring big corporations pay their fair share.
@LizAdamsLibDem Terrible news! Housing is being given the green light by the Planning Inspector in #Banbury because of the train routes to Oxford to commute for work. Yet another indication sites are not sustainable.
This is completely unacceptable. These trains are always jam-packed and clearly on a vital route. Crucial services have been centralised in Oxford and many people's jobs and livlihoods depend on this route. Addressing the poor service should not mean reducing capacity!
Oxford–Banbury–Birmingham train services are being cut again. Train operator CrossCountry is withdrawing 8 services each day on the Reading–Newcastle route via Oxford. The cuts will reduce the service to broadly hourly, with no trains in the evening peak between 16.40 and 18.12.
Fantastic that North Oxfordshire has a hard-working Liberal Democrat MP to hold the government to account. It is out of the question that residents should be footing the bill for Thames Water incompetence. @banburynews@thebanburyfm@BBCOxford
Yvette Cooper has just confirmed that the now-aborted Rwanda Scheme cost the U.K. taxpayer £700m to send just 4 “volunteers” to Rwanda.
And that the previous govt budgeted a total £10 Billion cost.
Has there ever been government waste on this scale?
I asked the Prime Minister if he would start talks on a youth mobility scheme, so young people like Rose can work more freely in the EU.
I'm glad he said he was open to work with other parties on these proposals to strengthen the UK/EU relationship.
There are plenty of activists in Israel and Palestine who are calling for peace.
But these voices are embers in a nascent fire. The govt and others need to provide the oxygen of political support so they can survive and grow.
These are the voices that deserve to be amplified.
Ofwat must block these insulting water bill price hikes 💧
After years of pumping raw sewage into our rivers with impunity, big water companies are now demanding more from struggling families in the midst of a cost of living crisis.
Here's what I had to say on @TimesRadio👇
