Great to see so much scrub clearance taking place on #SilfieldNatureReserve. Canopies are great for tree-dwellers but opening up the ponds will significantly increase #biodiversity
The work on both sites means there will be heavy equipment at times clearing ground and several new bridges and culverts will be going in from now until the end of the year. We are working closely with @NorfolkWT, @SNorfolkCouncil and @NationalHways to complete this work.
Plans have been in place for a while now to open up #TheOxford to the public and conservation work has now been started, thanks to funding from @SNorfolkCouncil.
We are excited that work is also being carried out on the #SilfieldNatureReserve, which is owned by @NationalHways
Our amazing #Volunteers have been out today strimming the path edge on the 1-acre, and giving our new hedging some breathing space, BUT leaving the majority of the wild plants alone in respect of #NoMowMay
We have some new signs courtesy of @NorfolkTrails (?). Very smart, but the one towards the A11 won’t get you very far. To cross the A11 you need to follow the Bridleway south along Lizard Lane to Rightup Lane, and use the footbridge!
If you’re planning on using the Lizard Walks Car Park today, please be aware there are some drainage works taking place alongside. Parking will be available, but might be limited.
@NorwichFringe14@NorfolkCC We’re really pleased with the progress made over the last few weeks! It’s so important that we strengthen the hedgerow and infill the gaps that have appeared over the last couple of years. Alternative means of access are available (at either end!)
