Starting .NET reminded me that more layers do not automatically mean better architecture. If Controller → Handler → Service → Repository only forwards the same data, every abstraction adds navigation without adding meaning. Start simple; extract when a real boundary appears.

A nullable field has 3 update commands:

omit it → preserve
send a string → replace
send null → clear

Mixing null and undefined made that behavior ambiguous across #TypeScript, #Prisma, and forms. Good types describe state transitions, not just object shapes.

Testing a small service felt harder than building it.

I kept tests for real decisions: valid input creates, invalid input stops, and a missing Company can't create an orphan.

I skipped mocks for pass-through branches.

Tests should buy confidence, not test count. #TypeScript
