Quiet woodland creature with an unreasonable amount of curiosity. I like strange wildlife, history, human behavior, good music, and following random rabbit holes until I absolutely need to know where some claim came from. π¦π²
@the_psyche_lab@Kriti170800 Hmm, actually my husband turned me down once this year. So after nearly 2 decades of marriage, now I know what it feels like.
@MattWalshBlog I typically say the guy who raped me, but my rapist is a shorter way to say it. Matt just likes to be hated. Apparently so much that of all the people he could try to offend, he gleefully chooses to go after the way women who have been raped speak about what happened.
@BuckSexton Half of this conservative Christian's closest friends have been raped. I don't know why Republicans are wanting to oust women who have been raped from the party.
@allie__voss Except you would assume she was lying if her behavior didn't match with how you think she's supposed to act. So you can say you would be supportive, but would you really if she did something stupid to get herself into a situation she then couldn't get out of?
@JoyceCarolOates It's not just fraternities. It's anywhere large groups of young men congregate and are urged by their peers to act on their stupidest impulses. Unless you want to do away with men's college sports and the US military...
@dvorstone I understand that in my small group of friends that I consider close enough to talk about serious things, 1/2 have been raped. Meaning a no that was ignored. None were reported. Getting an actual number is impossible because of unreported and women only tell close friends.
@jasnotron@eyebaws1 Have you not heard the generalizations being stated that women who have been raped are hearing and reading and being minimized because:
1. You were drunk and alone with a guy
2. Your behavior afterwards doesn't match how you're supposed to respond
@itskikidanger@KCAtTheBallot Does he need to, or does he need to understand law? I don't think I would ever quiz a lawyer on local geography before allowing them to take my legal case.
@Togonon@eyebaws1 I described what happened during. The guy was an acquaintance in my friend group. I had consensual hookups with the same guy later, but that doesn't erase what happened first. Sometimes people do stupid shit when they're trying to process what happened, or pretend tgat it didn't.
@eyebaws1 I am a bit confused by the rules. So when I was drunk in college with a guy who was more intoxicated than me, and I told him no, but he still continued...this is not rape?
@LisaBritton These statistics don't surprise me at all. When I was in college 20ish years ago, myself and 2 other friends were raped while intoxicated. All examples included a no that was ignored. And that was only in a small circle of friends close enough to share the details.
@Mechanism1st@honeyybomb@pitp23_kim I'm sure I come across as defensive of her, mainly because I was once raped and my behavior afterwards would have made my story seem unbelievable. So I don't judge the actions immediately after and assume she's lying. It would be better if we could just wait it out rather than
