🇧🇷🇲🇽🇨🇱 LATIN AMERICA UNDER ATTACK: BRAZIL ACCOUNTS FOR 61% OF COMPROMISED ACCESS POINTS DETECTED IN 2026 (01-01-2026) to 16-06-2026)

During the first half of 2026, thousands of corporate, government, and educational access points were identified being traded on criminal marketplaces specializing in stolen credentials and Initial Access.

🇧🇷 Brazil leads the region by a wide margin with 3,031 records, accounting for approximately 61% of the Latin American total.

🇲🇽 Mexico (413), 🇨🇱 Chile (328), 🇦🇷 Argentina (220), 🇪🇨 Ecuador (191), and 🇵🇪 Peru (175) make up the second group of most affected countries.

The education sector remains the primary target observed, with universities and academic organizations representing a significant portion of the traded access points.

The most exposed government entities belong primarily to 🇦🇷 Argentina and 🇧🇷 Brazil, notably including public security agencies, regional governments, public education bodies, and state administration entities.

📈 June saw the highest volume, with 1,839 records representing approximately 37% of the total analyzed for the year.

The regional trend shows sustained growth driven by credentials obtained via infostealers and access points linked to Microsoft 365, Outlook Web Access, and corporate services exposed to the Internet.

🇫🇷🇩🇪🇮🇹 EUROPE 2026: FRANCE HAS THE HIGHEST CONCENTRATION OF COMPROMISED ACCESS POINTS ON THE CONTINENT

VECERT's analysis identified 31,959 compromised access points across 42 European countries, reflecting sustained activity within criminal markets specializing in the sale of corporate and government credentials.

🇫🇷 France tops the list with 11,379 records, equivalent to 35.6% of all activity observed in Europe.

🇩🇪 Germany (6,534) and 🇮🇹 Italy (3,876) together account for over 32% of the regional volume, establishing themselves as the leading countries. Key areas of exposure following France

🎓 The education sector leads in terms of exposure, accounting for 31% of the total, followed by government bodies (19%) and private companies (18%)

🏛️ Government entities from 🇫🇷 France, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇬🇧 the UK, and 🇵🇱 Poland frequently appear among the compromised access points

🛡️ Domains linked to the defense and armed forces of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Poland were also identified

European critical infrastructure shows a lower volume of records but carries significantly higher strategic impact due to the inclusion of telecommunications, energy, transport, and healthcare sectors
