@CllrCowan@VIRTUAL_TRIS@BuckCllr The ‘previous administration’ had one year. Your mix and match lot had the previous 4. You didn’t do it then. Weren’t these the leftovers from the cancelled October event? Any credit should go to seafront traders.
🎄Tonight I attended the @SENDtherightme1 Christmas Party. 🎉
It was great to chat with their wonderful CEO Maggie Cleary and other families who were attending to understand more about the personal challenges young people with SEN face.
The need is great. We cannot keep letting SEND kids down. So I am delighted that the government have started the work of fixing the system, announcing last week:-
☑️ £740m to create thousands of specialist places including in mainstream schools
☑️ A Neurodiversity Task & Finish Group to drive work on inclusion
☑️ No more Safety Valve agreements, pending whole-system reform
@ICARSBanRandS complaint to bbc Don’t exclude me was in relation to a dangerous restraint used icars stated their complaint in relation to - alleged a breach of the child’s human rights in the form of a dangerous restraint performed by Gentles that was broadcast as a best practice in behavior management. The same dangerous restraint was emulated later in the program by staff from Milton Hall. This restraint, called the “T-wrap” according to Gentles, is potentially life-threatening and could lead to positional asphyxiation. We went on to cite children who had been killed from restraint use and how important it was for the BBC to make corrections to the programming.
@ICARSBanRandS had to go back again siting the restraint had been withdrawn from the team teach syllabus, the medical advisers have advised it is not to be used because of the risk of death associated with positional asphyxiation.”
Perhaps @SouthendCityC and @lwhb__ could explain why this restraint was used and then used by staff at @MiltonHallSS0 and what the long term outcome for the kiddies in this show was because I think we all know don’t we @SendSouthend@JuliaCa20602661
Shame on the bbc for their pathetic response to @ICARSBanRandS complaint and @MarieGentles1 and behaviourists like her and the ignorant supernanny, Tom Bennett etc all have a lot to answer for

The normalization of restraint has been deeply concerning. ICARS addressed this in response to the BBC documentary Don’t Exclude Me, which showed a 6-year-old being restrained as "best practice." Here's why this was dangerous. 🧵🚨 #AgainstRestraint

5/ ICARS remained committed to advocating for the end of abusive and life-threatening restraint and seclusion in schools, urging media to avoid perpetuating harmful interventions. Children deserve protection, not harm. #AgainstRestraint 🙏👶 Learn more: [https://t.co/H5A0jB2MOs]

We have an epidemic of violence against women and girls according to the UN. Still so many do not report violence against them as our justice system is broken and women still aren’t taken seriously or respected by Police
People in wheelchairs openly weeping, here outside of Parliament. The atmosphere is one of profound sadness and terror. A dark cloud has descended over the UK. #AssistedDyingBill
At a time when social care is chronically underfunded, and many Disabled people are unable to afford essentials, this legislation sends a chilling message: the government prioritises the right to die over the right to live.

@CllrDent As public questions for council now have to be approved by the monitoring officer, do we know how long residents have to wait before they are informed whether they can attend to ask their questions?
