Mike Wang after dropping 23 pages of patch notes for NBA 2k27 but leaving speed ups in, letting me still bobble the ball with a 95 ball handle, buffing OPEN SHOTS AGAIN, no heat check mentioned, still can’t buy boosts on spot.
I’m really intrigued to see how the game develops with a patch season 2.
I think it’s very likely if they go too over the top on ghost contest reduction that small guards will DOMINATE this game with how effective the quick stops are. Honestly, I’m down to see it, I’m just saying the balance of the game might end up even more undisputed.
I don’t think you can convince me that the most EFFECTIVE way to win games on 3v3 RIGHT NOW even is to load up with multiple dunking builds and everyone rim runs.
It’s pretty obvious the guard-lock-center is still good, and the only thing holding it in check is the contest-ability on the guards.
Take that away and make a guy play a hand up at all times near them, there’s gonna be tons of hand down man down situations while they’re trying to guard a further long run, fades even, and if you are consistently playing hands up, you’re gonna move way too slow to guard them.
So it’ll all just be some mind game of when to hand up, but maybe that’s not awful either. I just think the game’s in a delicate state on the matter of how to fix the game’s contest problem.
I genuinely get scared as a point guard in rec to stop and scan the floor for the correct play. 9/10 that shit getting plucked. There is other issues but my goodness the experience on this game would be much more tolerable without steals the way they are.
Here’s my thing right. There aren’t other basketball games. Mainly due to licensing I think but. The many times EA was trying and flopped. None of us are game devs. And I think we gotta bare with these guys a bit more. There’s no telling if certain equipment got worse or isn’t the same as before. Tech. Contracts. Etc. we don’t kno any of that. Instead of complaining so much I think we either enjoy the parts of it we do. Or simply don’t play the game.
But the crying isn’t going to solve not ONE thing.
Better approaches to the complaints may work. Our parents always taught us never to cry to get what we want.
