R/1 have had a wonderful day at Wicksteed Park and luckily, the sun shone for us! In History this half term, the children have been learning about Charles Wicksteed and enjoyed spotting different landmarks we had discussed in class. What a lovely day we have all had! :)
R/1 have had a very exciting day releasing their butterflies in the Spiritual Garden. It has been lovely to watch the children observe the life cycle of a caterpillar and to see such awe and wonder from them. Another magical learning opportunity for our smallest children! :)
R/1 had a wonderful, sunny day at Hamerton Zoo yesterday. The children enjoyed seeing lots of animals and discussing what animal groups they belong to. They also enjoyed getting up close and personal to a few animals in the variety of life workshop. What a great day we all had!
R/1 took a stroll into the deep dark woods yesterday in the search of the Gruffalo and all of his friends. All of that walking was thirsty work so we stopped to have a yummy hot chocolate and story in the woods. What a lovely day and a great start to our Gruffalo topic! :)
R/1 have loved learning all about Lunar New Year today. The children have been busy learning how to speak in Chinese, write their names and enjoyed trying on traditional outfits. To finish off their learning, they enjoyed some delicious Chinese treats! Kung Hei Fat Choi! :)
In R.E this term, R/1 have been exploring the theme of belonging. The children enjoyed a visit to the church this morning where Reverend Andy led a discussion about Christenings. The children even got a turn to stand up next to the font and use the holy water on the baby!
R/1 have enjoyed learning all about birds following the RSPB birdwatch event. This morning, the children made bird feeders at Forest school and were very excited to hang them around the Wetland area. What a wonderful morning! π
R/1 are certainly in the festive spirit after a lovely morning of Christmas crafting at the village hall. Thank you so much for a fantastic turn out, we really do appreciate it. We hope you all had as much fun as we did!π
The first trip to the Snowzone for KS1 was a great success! The children have enjoyed a day of tobogganing and taking part in a snowy obstacle course before settling down to a cosy hot chocolate and cookies. What a wonderful day! :)
R/1 have had a lovely last day of term and enjoyed a visit from our local paramedic Darren. The children were very excited to hear about a day in the life of a paramedic and became mini doctors by putting bandages on their friends. What a wonderful way to end our topicπ
What a wonderful day of learning R/1 have had today! We started our new topic 'People who help us' with a visit from our local PCSO officer Kerry. The children loved hearing about a police officers job and how they keep us safe. What a fun day! :)
When a Reception child's parent was asked last week, why choose Loddington CE Primary, their response was that our school has a heart β₯οΈ. High praise indeed for our nurturing school family.
R/1 have enjoyed another session at our Forest and Wetland Area this morning. We enjoyed exploring our senses by smelling and touching different items that we would find in the Forest before lying on the grass to listen to all the sounds that we could hear. What a fun morning! :)
Wow! What a fantastic start to the school year for all the children. Our new reception children have greeted us each morning with the biggest of smiles on their faces and I couldn't be prouder of the way they have settled into school life. Well done! :)
Year 6 had an amazing time at Twinlakes Theme park yesterday for their end of Year leavers trip. They particularly enjoyed the Dragon Falls Log Flume, the Buffalo Coaster and the Pedalo Boats. A few bravely went on Excalibur which went extremely high!
Year 5&6 have worked incredibly hard this term using a range of skills and equipment to create their bridges. After looking at many example structures, they worked collaboratively in small groups using saws and hot glue guns to assemble their final pieces. Amazing work Year 5&6.
