Today, we did not send you an ordinary message of gratitude. Instead, we decided to write our gratitude on the walls of Gaza itself.

The young members of Project Mohammed painted your portrait on one of the walls still standing amid the destruction, because your voice has never been merely distant words to us. Here, your voice has become water for thirsty children, bread for hungry families, and meals for people exhausted by hunger.

The war may have destroyed the buildings around us, but it could never erase the gratitude in our hearts. We wanted your portrait to remain here, among the people you stood beside during the most difficult days of their lives.

When the children saw the mural, we told them: “This is William—a man who may be far away, but whose heart is very close to Gaza. His voice helped bring you water and bread.”

This is not simply a portrait on a shattered wall. It is a message from Gaza to you:

You did not witness our suffering and remain silent.
You helped the world see and hear us.
Because of you, our team has been able to give thousands of families a measure of hope and life.

From the children of Gaza, the young members of Project Mohammed, and the depths of our hearts: thank you, brother. You have become part of the story of this place, and your impact will remain engraved in our hearts—even if these walls disappear one day. 🤍

What I’d like for billionaires to hear is that the vast majority of world sees chatbots and the impact they’re having as toxic. The elite class believes they have special knowledge that gives you the right to shove AI down our throats anyway.

But it is not a PR problem. It is not about your message. It’s about the rational pros and cons of making an existential economic, environmental, and cognitive bet on slop generators becoming sentient.

The fact that the industry oscillates between fantasies of abundance and doomer scenarios of extinction events doesn’t help. Your proposal sounds like: “Either it will take your job or kill us all. We’re in a hurry to find out which one whether you like it or not.”
