The GFS finally caved. Jamaica needs to finish preparations today for a major hurricane strike from #Melissa.

Judging from my comments I don’t think people understand how bad a slow moving Category 4 hurricane will be. There’s no sugar coating this. Hope everyone has heeded the warnings and made all necessary preparations. All we can do is hope and pray for a miss.

Here’s a fairly comprehensive / efficient animation to outline the possibilities.
Tough forecast. We have high confidence (but not certainty) it will not hit Florida, but the Bahamas are certainly a concern.
The real question is will the storm take the first jet stream dip -or- drift for days until it takes the 2nd jet dip and heads northeast. If it evacuates early and moves over Haiti/DR it may be weaker but it will dump very dangerous amounts of rain. These slow moving systems are notorious for deadly flooding there, especially due to mountain run-off.
If instead it waits and moves west, it may become a major hurricane with near record water temps. Then as a possible major hurricane it would move near Jamaica, Caymans, Cuba, Bahamas and/or Turks & Caicos close to Halloween.
Too early for details, but this has the potential to be on our radar, if you will, for 10 more days +! #Hurricane

Atencion pueblo dominicano próximamente anunciaremos la fecha de una protesta de CALENTAMIENTO contra la reforma fiscal presentada por el gobierno el día de hoy en La Semanal con el presidente Luis Abinader y sus ministros.

Nos quieren cobrar más impuestos pero no quieren sacrificar el financiamiento de sus partidos políticos, a los que le dan miles de millones cada año de nuestros impuestos. Rompieron records de préstamos y de gasto en publicidad gubernamental mientras no tenemos electricidad, agua, seguridad, hospitales ni escuelas que sirvan.

¿Cuál es el desarrollo?, ¿en qué país?, ¿o algún funcionario tiene a su hijo en una escuela pública, lo lleva a un hospital público, vive sin tinaco, sin inversor o planta, andan sin seguridad?

Por encima de esto el gobierno asume la salud y la educación de personas indocumentadas por encima de los dominicanos.
