im just here to find more artists to comm on vgen. dms closed. idc about the ai debate. go vegetarian or vegan if you actually care about the environment.
@CoolCoreKasper@Ravelle1111 You and I are extremely privileged. Not everyone in the world has consistent electricity, access to interfaces to even do what you do. Twitter is not reflective of the world. I do agree ai art isn’t real art but art is NOT accessible to everyone
@AuroraTheBuni Some artists do and some don’t. Typically (and pls don’t take offense), career professional artists have no issue with AI ref as they treat it more like a business. If I find an artist via ArtStation or Reddit - they are more likely to be like that. I’ve commed a lot of art
@winter_wolve@lunaeryschu This is insane. People are acting like you punched someone. So what, you liked something, it was AI, it happens. If it’s pretty, the pretty. The policing is insane. That’s like me making ppl apologize for eating meat cause they killed an animal (which is worse than AI art)
@WarsAngelic There is no reason to be rude. I was agreeing to support real artists. I’m assuming you’re talking about monetary support which typically come from people who can’t draw. Those who buy art instead of using AI to do it. Jeez.
@Xao_lanVT@neejeeha@Annu_Artss This isn’t a public detector. This is OpenAi’s own detector for their own Synth ID. And even so, who draws fingernails on gloves?? Even I put the image she posted in OpenAi’s detector and it said it was genned with OpenAi’s tools.
@EthicalArtHub This is sort of wrong but I don’t want to say how when it comes to tracing so bad actors don’t do it and sell AI art and lie and say it’s real art.
@Dromo___@sammycore333 You should really not use AI as a student and I’m not against AI. You need to learn the foundations yourself and practice and develop your problem solving muscle. AI will hamper your development. After some years of experience than sure AI can definitely help with shortcuts
@DaFlamingBadger if you work remote, you can just use your own machine. I don’t say this to support AI but I’m speaking reality no matter how inconvenient it feels. If we care about the environment, we need to accept reality to be able to combat it not close our eyes and say it’s not happening
@DaFlamingBadger In addition, if you work for a MS or a subsidiary of them and many other companies you typically have access to LLM’s through the company. They have rules around the usage yes, but it’s not outlawed. But let’s say you don’t want to use your company login, you can go to your own.
@DaFlamingBadger Do you even work in the industry? When it comes to tracking devs: typically yes badge swipes, commits, etc. They aren’t preoccupied with watching our screens or screen watching software. I know at banks it’s normalized to track mouse swipes.
@BulliedMizuki Believing that all devs will always tell the truth no matter what that they never consulted with Claude/GPT when developing and copied code is cope.
@BulliedMizuki@Wunkolo@MolodyGs@SurelyAutomata@WagaDraws It’s not cope. I work as a dev. This is what is happening in our industry. It’s just reality that AI has been introduced in our workflows, our IDE and has become normalized. I’m not against or for AI. I buy real art to enjoy it. AI is not the biggest concern in my life.
@oshishyx Give them another day, maybe they have work and slept and needed to do something important in the morning. If they don’t answer in a day and a half, then ask someone else.
@DaFlamingBadger@DOdeniyi9389@inkedwhite They said they didn’t use it to make tools. They never said their devs don’t use it. Because they can’t say that. They can’t guarantee that their codebase has zero AI. Any dev can consult Claude and copy and paste code. Nothing can guarantee they don’t.
@EthicalArtHub@Annu_Artss Ugh. I don’t care about AI art at all but selling it and lying about is so deceptive. People are paying their hard earned money for real art.
@Wunkolo@MolodyGs@SurelyAutomata@WagaDraws Yes GPT and Gemini have this for images. I think it’s a good thing but I also think people will be able to crack this anyways based on the white paper that was published that informed this tech. And they needed to do this to comply with EU law too.
