As a resident of Holborn & St Pancras, I find the upcoming #byelection meaningless; the next MP will be chosen by the Labour Party, as it has been for the last 80 years. The current parliamentary system is not fit for the 21st Century. I will choose to spoil my vote.
This letter, sent to a Reform volunteer ahead of the Clacton by-election, was posted with a first-class stamp, meaning it went out through the mail in advance of polling day itself.
In it, Farage tells the volunteer he'll be watching the results come in at Great Oakley Airfield, with doors open at 11pm, and will "speak from the main stage once the result is declared."
That's not a contingency. That's the stated plan, in writing, before a vote was cast.
Days later, Reform told the press Farage was skipping the official declaration because Essex Police had advised him not to attend over a "credible threat." Essex Police say they gave no such advice to him or any candidate.
Whatever the explanation offered afterward, the letter shows where he actually planned to be all along. Not attending the count wasn't a last-minute security decision. It was the itinerary. Farage is a fucking liar.
@RideoutTim@afneil I recently did a part-time job, earned £400, reduced by 50% for UC, and 30% for Council Tax Reduction Support being withdrawn. That's 80%, so I got only an extra £80.
@gingerrtom So sorry that those unable to work or care for themselves have not been made to beg for Jeremy Clark's gratitude. Wanting to have a reasonable and dignified life rather than be compared to a dog.
