Hi y'all. Just wanted to stop by and say that if Twitter really does end up imploding soon-it's honestly been nice getting to know everybody, and I hope we'll be able to stay in touch.
@BadWritingTakes I think most people can see them for the transphobic, hateful people they are so it seems pointless that they still try to hide the fact.
Gender Criticals on mainstream media: "This is simply about protecting women's rights, we have no bigotry against trans people whatsoever"
Gender Criticals on Spiked: "Is the total eradication of trans people going to succeed?"
@Auriandra@Gerashchenko_en One of Trump's new appointments for his Cabinet is saying that Trump will threaten Putin with giving Ukraine much more military equipment, to make putler back off of Ukraine. We'll see what happens. It's the opposite of what Trump has said in the past.
On a certain level I realize that 2008 was a once-in-a-lifetime, or at least a once-in-a-generation event, but the lesson we need to take going forward is that the public WILL throw you into long term unemployment to keep their prices low if they can & you have to plan accordingly
@jonfavs Confirmation bias is a terrible thing.
It seems very clear that @TheDemocrats' embrace of unthinking wokeism in the 2020 primary was a mistake. They need to keep a distinction between *economic* progressivism (which is popular) and *social* progressivism (which isn't).
@jonfavs Can you do a podcast that openly discusses why most people—including many Democrats—are upset about males in female sports and medical gender transitions of minors? If that’s too uncomfortable, it’s a sign that the party remains in thrall to wokeness.
@jonfavs You should invite Gilberto Hinojosa for an interview. When he spoke up *after the election* about how gender ideology is driving Latinos out of the Dem Party, he was forced to resign by angry activists. https://t.co/FyRuHCOj3A
"The problem is that once working class people of color stop voting against their values, you aren't going to easily convince them into going back." But they didn't in 2020. Or in 2016. Etc. This is just cockamamie bullshit.
You could feel the racial depolarization rumbling down the track for years. I thought that it would hit in 2026, but it came early.
The problem is that once working class people of color stop voting against their values, you aren't going to easily convince them into going back.
The Left of the Democratic Party have held some pretty unpopular maximalist positions for years under the assumption that Latinos would vote like Blacks and not like Working Class Catholics. That gave the people way more power than they could sustain on the strength of their positions alone.
Everyone seems to be in denial about that reality.
There's no explanation from Plouffe and co as to why Dem turnout was so low among non white voters and why so many latinos shifted red. They have no explanation b/c they weren't aware or in sync w/the electorate.
The real reason Harris lost: Her team didn't understand they had a winning hand. She was outperforming Biden among college whites in polling and it played out in the exit polls. Not paying attention to non white voters killed her chances.
