1/ Heavy drones, which the Russians largely lack, are providing a significant advantage for Ukrainian infantry logistics on the battlefield. Meanwhile, says a Russian source, the Russian infantry face a "reverse evolution" of their equipment under harsh battlefield conditions. ⬇️
1/ Russian mobile air defence teams are stuck in queues outside gas stations and are being denied preferential access to scarce fuel, a Russian source says in a plea to a warblogger for help. The problem has arisen because the teams don't drive military-registered vehicles. ⬇️

Remember, just last week it came out in court that ICE outright invented a fake murder attempt on one of their officers and tried to send a man to prison for decades on claims he choked an agent, even though THEY were the ones who actually put the guy in a chokehold!
Last month, Border Patrol shot a US citizen who was drunk and looking for a bathroom. They detained for no reason at all. **According to DHS,** just like Alex Pretti, they disarmed him first, but fell over and yelled "gun, gun," which led to another agent to shoot him.
of course, the real fact, actually validated by data from eg @KeeperAI and elsewhere, is:
women have fairly heterogenous preferences for male beauty across their life course and across individuals
while men have comparatively more homogenous preferences for physical beauty
@Tyler_A_Harper@dilanesper It wasn't "the establishment", it was Trump. Each time, it is specific people, and parts of "the establishment" are usually against it.
So not only did an ICE agent shoot an unarmed man in the back of a van and lie about it, they’ve detained three eyewitnesses and are pressuring them to self-deport so they don’t testify. This is horrifying shit.
Birthright citizenship is especially noxious to the populist right. They scorn it as relying on magic dirt — the idea that there is something inherent in American soil that makes a person an American citizen.
Yet the same populists seem to believe in something like magic blood — that one’s lineage can make one superior.
America doesn’t have magic dirt, and it certainly doesn’t have magic blood. But it does have a magic idea — the creed that declares “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” https://t.co/lDocJeovCh
The problem is public opinion, and elites do remarkably well given how awful it is.
Rent control is supported by most Republican voters, but no Republican politicians, and you'll even see Democratic politicians speak against it!
This is why my book argues you should appreciate elites. https://t.co/UkXWcvEwpn
Rent control is a stunning policy.
The literature, the experts, and the repeated experience of reality all stand undivided in saying it's bad.
But the public loves it. It's insanely popular. It's basically a 75:25 issue and voters want more of it.
I believe that the "end of reading" discourse is a moral panic.
The Atlantic reports that 35% of high school students are proficient in reading.
Sounds bad. But it gives no historical context.
In 1994, it was 36%. The numbers have basically been flat for decades.
It looks like Ukraine will be given permission to produce Patriot missiles, but likely not the best kind which they most need to protect their cities from Russian ballistic missiles.
It could take a long time to actually start producing missiles.
