She nails it in support of Harrison Butker’s Commencement speech.
“ I don’t hear this kind of commotion for football players with 5 baby mamas who are on video beating their wives and children and driving their car 119 mph”
Joe the Plumber Redux: Obama and the New More “Inclusive Capitalism”
There are news reports of an upcoming, Obama-Foundation “Democracy Forum” summit, focusing on a more “inclusive capitalism”. According to Axios, the “former president will call for “a new economic framework that addresses inequality and prepares citizens for the coming changes in how we live and work that reaches a higher purpose beyond material consumption.””
Obama increasingly seems to see in Biden’s decline his own “third term”—or his last chance to be the genuine radical “community organizer” he always dreamed that he might be in his first two.
Remember shortly after Biden’s 2020 election, Obama pontificated,
“If I could make an arrangement where I had a stand-in, a frontman or frontwoman, and they had an earpiece in and I was just in my basement in my sweats looking through the stuff, then I could sort of deliver the lines but somebody else was doing all the talking and ceremony, then I'd be fine with that because I found the work fascinating.”
Joe Biden apparently has given Obama his long-dreamed of chance to “deliver the lines” to a “stand-in, a frontman”. Thus, Obama is directing everything from Biden’s “spread-the-wealth” Bidenomics to his new AI initiatives.
And as far as inclusivity goes, perhaps Obama believes that Americans can be more inclusive by raising federal and state income, property, sales, and energy taxes to exceed the often 50% bite that most people now pay, or up the 8-million illegal entries across a nonexistent border, or increase the current $1.7 trillion budget deficit, or spike the spiraling $34 trillion national debt, or raise even higher the current $4-5 a gallon gas price in many states, or get interest rates up over the current 7% thirty-year mortgage rate.
And as for Obama’s disdain for “material consumption”?
Hmmm... Does that critique of inequality, inordinate profiteering, and conspicuous consumption suggest that Obama will then decide that as a former president, he must himself set the example by exhibiting a “higher purpose” beyond his own fixations on “material consumption”?
In other words, perhaps Obama now plans to downsize and sell off either his #4 new multimillion-dollar Hawaii beachfront villa, or his #3 30-acre, multimillion-dollar Martha’s-Vineyard estate, or his #2 Washington-DC Kalorama multimillion-dollar mansion, or his #1 multimillion-dollar stately Chicago home?
Does Obama’s reference to a more “inclusive capitalism” also encompass the ex-president signing $150-million-plus worth of book and Netflix deals, or Michelle Obama recently speaking for an hour on “diversity and inclusion” (but oddly not on the” equity” part of the holy DEI trinity), for over $12,000 a minute in Germany?
Since Obama has called the Biden administration his veritable “third-term” and because he is now in a dialing-it-in/”delivering-the-lines” recalibration mood, maybe he can also reexamine the catastrophes that the Obama-Biden Russian 2009-14 “reset,” and his own unhinged “Shiite crescent” vision of a more inclusive Middle East, have delivered in the Donbas, Crimea, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Gaza, and in southern Israel.
