@CenterPoint My whole neighborhood got emailed and called that our power was back on but it isn’t! Those “restored” numbers include homes like mine - where you don’t actually know if power is on but you list it as “fixed”?!

@ParentAndrew@Dr_ESteel Came here to say the same thing! I looked at academic jobs and didn’t feel like I’d be able to be happy or healthy working that way - and so I made choices to get an industry job where I’m allowed/expected to prioritize my health and my family.
Most people think the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, but to them I say, that's just GIS. Sometimes on the third try, your geoprocessing tool just inexplicably works.
@KathyBenison @gloriouslymuddy I didn’t! Luckily my instructor just allowed it, but if asked I don’t think I would’ve been offended. Maybe annoyed about the hassle but I’d understand. It’s a shame that you have to think about that - I would’ve hoped (naively I suppose) that students wouldn’t take advantage.
