We strongly condemn the killing of another Bangladeshi citizen, Anwar Hossain, at the Panchagarh border by the Border Security Force @BSF_India.
This is not an isolated incident. Since Bangladesh’s independence, BSF has been repeatedly implicated in the killing of unarmed Bangladeshi civilians—acts that starkly contravene international conventions on the right to life and the principles of proportionality in border security measures.
Data from Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) highlights the alarming scale of this violence: between 2009 and 2020, 522 Bangladeshis were killed by BSF, with 324 shot and others tortured to death. Human Rights Watch’s @hrw 2010 report, “Trigger Happy”, underscores a persistent pattern of lethal force, with Indian government sources attributing 347 Bangladeshi and 164 Indian deaths to BSF firing between 2006 and 2010. Shockingly, these killings continue unabated, with 34 recorded in 2023, 23 in 2022, and 18 in 2021. These deaths are often defended with dubious claims of combating smuggling or self-defense, in blatant violation of the 2018 accord, under which India and Bangladesh pledged to avoid lethal force in managing border crossings.
This stark reality undermines claims of friendship between the two nations, particularly during the past 16 years of the Awami regime. Over 300 lives were lost at the border during the 2010s alone, a grim testament to enduring hostility that contradicts the rhetoric of partnership.
The Indian government must take urgent steps to ensure its border forces comply with international human rights standards. Respect for the right to life, proportionality, and humane treatment must underpin all border operations. True friendship between nations can only be built on a foundation of mutual respect, equity, and shared harmony.
The martyrdom of Shaheed Saiful Islam Alif exemplifies the unwavering patience and unity of the people of Bangladesh, setting a remarkable example of communal harmony.
In our beloved country, people of all religions including Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians live together in peace, Alhamdulillah, reflecting the nation’s commitment to mutual goodwill. Let’s preserve this unity and continue working towards peaceful coexistence.
Deeply concerned about the attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala 🇮🇳
Such incident is a serious breach of diplomatic norms and warrants immediate action.
@ChiefAdviserGoB@DrSJaishankar@MEAIndia@UNGeneva
The Bangladeshi Assistant High Commission in Agartala (Tripura, India) was attacked by extremist Hindutva gang. The national flag of Bangladesh has been desecrated.
What do they really want to achieve?
We strongly condemn this attack and call upon the Government of India to ensure the safety of our diplomats and citizens working there.

India is the world's biggest source of misinformation! Compared to that, Bangladesh has almost no misinformation at all. Let’s forgive them—they defecate on the streets, consume lies as truth, and dance in the name of blind faith. Let’s be better, let’s act better!
The Indians are trying to attack Bangladesh for no valid reason! Why will they try to enter our country? India kill innocent people in the Border, they spread false information on Bangladesh and now they are trying to enter into Bangladesh.
🚨This is very alarming
Today, a large group of Hindutva supporters assembled at the Bangladesh border, armed with saffron flags and sticks, and were heard chanting 'Chol Chol Bangladesh Chol'.
Their attempt to cross into Bangladesh was met with opposition from the Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian law enforcement.
This situation calls for the immediate attention of the international community and human rights groups to safeguard Bangladesh's integrity and security.

As India fails to provide security to its neighboring country's diplomatic missions within it’s territory; they have no right to talk about communal harmony in Bangladesh.
The people of Bangladesh do not like anyone's dominance over heads at all.
We urge the people of Bangladesh to remain vigilant.
National unity is its effective medicine.
Violent anti-government protests in Bangladesh have fueled many false claims of attacks against the nation's Hindu minority.

Indian media in planned propaganda about Bangladesh: Foreign Affairs Advisor
#Bangladesh's Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain has commented that the #Indian media did not take the July uprising well. He alleged that they are carrying out planned propaganda to portray Bangladesh as a militant state to the world.
The Foreign Affairs Advisor said this at a day-long conference marking the 30th anniversary of the CPD at the BRAC Inn Center in Mohakhali in the capital on Sunday afternoon. He said that all the news like minority oppression and the rise of the Taliban government are absurd.
Advisor Touhid Hossain said, "The Indian media is not happy with the mass uprising in Bangladesh. They are carrying out planned propaganda to portray this country as a militant state to the world. The Indian media is also running an absurd campaign that minorities are being persecuted in this country and that a Taliban government is being established. The foreign affairs advisor also commented that the kind of discussion about Bangladesh that is being held in the Indian media will not be pleasant for either country.
