Hi @Toshl, I'm considering moving to Toshl Medici, it's one of the best options I came across. Just a question about categorisation: are you planning to add some mass edit features? Maybe just a way to move a tag to a new category and apply that category to its expenses. Thanks!
@housecor Btw I see it can be annoying. That’s why a good solution is to apply pre-commit hook checks just on staged files. So you can have “wrong” code alongside the “right” one, and commit only the latter without bothering with fixing everything before the commit.
Just my 2 cents 😊
@housecor Code doesn’t need to be “right” when saved, but when committed it does. CI arrives too late: your code is already in the tree, and that code is not a consistent version of your codebase. And managing and moving between consistent versions is precisely the purpose of a VCS imho.
@juliewdesign_ @GenerativeAge Your work is truly amazing Julie! If you don’t mind me asking, how do you manage to query such rich and complex scenes from the AI? Do you create different images and merge them or there are some tricks with prompt for that? When I try to do complex scenes I usually get blends 🙂
@martinlexow Cool, looking forward for it to be released 😊 Just an unrelated question though: love your app, great UI, but it’s super laggy at the point to be almost unusable. Noticing it in the “all images” tab with just the default images there. Even typing lags. I’m on MBP 14 with M1 Pro.
@DunsinWebDev Be explicit, even boring, and avoid "smart" code: you're writing it for other humans to be understood.
And abstractions have a cost, so prefer code repetition over an early abstraction.
@dan_abramov Thanks for the reply! 🙂 I see, I probably prefer to think about network requests as something isolated in it own module and abstracted away from store logic, but I appreciate your explanation. And I will definitely look more into Server Components, thanks!
@dan_abramov What do you think about RTK?
Especially things like createAsyncThunk, createEntityAdapter and createApi feel like an opaque configuration-based abstraction on top of Redux which might make it easier to start with, but also make it way more complex and less transparent.
@TheAlanRich@mxstbr imho, maintainability. I’m not saying that it’s not possible to create maintainable code with styled-components. But the fact that it promotes logic in styles, in my experience, makes it easier for things to go out of hand. Separation of concerns helps keep things simple. JMO 🙂
@branhillsdesign @mxstbr I see, but you can actually do that without putting logic in your styles. You can define all your variants in css and swap classes in your component based on your state, keeping logic and styling separate.
Anyhow, everybody can adopt the approach they prefer. Just my2cents 🙂
