Sony is sending emails to PlayStation users reminding them about the platform’s terms and that they don’t actually own their digital games.

The email is getting attention because Sony’s terms say that when you buy a digital game, you’re buying a license to use it, not owning the digital game itself.

That license generally can’t be transferred to someone else, and losing access to your account can also mean losing access to your digital content.

In other words, if your PlayStation account is permanently banned or closed, you could lose access to the digital games linked to that account.

Rarely I want to encourage negativity against anyone, especially creators.

But this is not cool.

Dododex has been an absolute asset to ARK over the last 10 years. As official as a companion app than even the wiki.

It's fair to suggest everyone has likely copied/used info enough to pass as off their own without credit(guilty myself in the past I'm sure).

But to create a website that directly competes against Dododex, using even an inkling of their data to do so, is flat out wrong.

There's no excuse that can redeem this either. This is actively malicious and disrespectful to a decade of work by one dude that deserves much better than even "credit".

YouTube has publicly pushed back against the UK government’s decision to include the platform in a planned ban on social media access for under-16s.

I need the government to lock up criminals, defend the nation, build infrastructure, collect the bins, and a few other services - basic research etc. I’m not an anarchist or anything.

What I don’t need from the government is moral instruction. I don’t need them to tell me how to raise my kids. I don’t need them to nudge me into better dietary choices. I certainly don’t need them hamfistedly backdooring my devices to check I’m not doing anything they don’t like.

Children under 18 can't get credit cards in Canada. So how & why can they get cell phones? Because a responsible adult usually buys it for them, sets up controls (or not), & pays the bills. The adult can set device access controls. They don't need (or want) the government. Next!
